“I would never dare do something like that. Sebastian, please, you have to save me, please?”
“Make Natalie come here and explain it to Marshall. It really wasn’t me…” Joanna’s cries were heart-wrenching.
Sebastian’s brow furrowed. “Alright, Joanna, stop crying. I’ll bring Natalie over right now.”
Hearing his words, Natalie’s face went deathly pale. It was always the same. He only ever believed Joanna.
Sebastian hung up and turned to Natalie, a flicker of conflict in his eyes. “Natalie, you’re coming with me. Joanna says you framed her…”
“Enough, Sebastian! If Joanna told you to jump off a cliff, would you do it? What does her business have to do with me? You want to take me with you? Fine, you can take my dead body.” Natalie’s anger finally erupted.
Why, even after she had signed the papers severing their ties and finalizing the divorce, would these people still not leave her alone?
Sebastian’s expression hardened, a flash of anger in his eyes. “Natalie, do you have any idea what Marshall is capable of? Joanna could die.”
Natalie gave a chilling smile. “You, Sebastian Griffith, can’t even protect the woman you love? What right do you have to be in a relationship?”
“Let’s go. I’m giving you one last chance…”
“I don’t need your chances. Anything you give me is disgusting. Joanna says I framed her? Then tell her to show you the proof.”
Just then, a video message came through on Sebastian’s phone. He opened it to see two men kneeling on the ground, their faces bruised and swollen. “Mr. Spencer… I’ll talk… It was… it was Natalie who told us to do it.”
Sebastian’s eyes turned to ice as he held the phone out for Natalie to see.
When Natalie saw the video, she was already numb.
“Heh…” She let out a pained laugh.
“Queena, something came up at work. I have to go back. I’ll come pick you up later.”
Queena sat bolt upright. “Natty, your voice doesn't sound right. Wait for me. I’m coming with you.”
“Okay,” Natalie said softly.
She got out of bed, found a comfortable outfit in her suitcase, and went into the bathroom to change, not once looking at Sebastian.
His back to her, Sebastian felt a tremor run through him as he watched her heartbreakingly desolate figure.
Queena pushed the door open and saw him standing there. That scumbag. What is he doing here?
“Sebastian, are you bullying Natty again?”
