For someone so young, her medical skills were astounding.
Marshall pouted. “Natalie, don’t I get a gift?”
Natalie rummaged through her bag and pulled out a small, black pill, handing it to him. “A ‘last resort’ pill. Want it?”
“Marshall, I know you love racing, and it can be dangerous. Always check your car before you get in.”
Marshall’s eyes flickered. He took the pill with a grin. It might just save his life one day.
Natalie watched him take it, a cold glint in her eyes. That pill was meant for Jerome Scott, the eldest of the Scott brothers. But he would never believe her. In her past life, she had noticed something was wrong with his car and warned him, but he had dismissed her. After the crash, he and Joanna had turned on her, claiming she was the culprit.
Joanna was a resourceful and manipulative woman. Take the recent events, for example. If Natalie hadn’t been prepared, she would never have been able to clear her name. Joanna was not only cunning but also skilled at winning people over. Her delicate appearance made men want to protect her, and many were completely devoted to her. The four Scott brothers doted on her, obeying her every whim.
This time, she would not interfere with what was to come.
“Natalie, what are you thinking about?” Marshall’s playful voice broke through her thoughts.
Natalie snapped back to reality, looking at his devilishly handsome face. She smiled faintly. “Nothing. I was just thinking about the upcoming car race. I heard you’re a fan. Could you take me to see it?” She loved racing too, but this time, she just wanted to watch Jerome destroy himself. That man had always been incredibly hostile toward her.
Natalie thought for a moment. In her past life, the Spencer family was devoured by the person behind Joanna a year from now. “Grandma, it won’t be long. That person will appear soon. You must be careful this year.”
This was what Mrs. Spencer Sr. had come to hear. She had consulted a fortune-teller who had predicted a great calamity for her and the Spencer family this year. She had already survived one close call. Natalie’s warning solidified her plans.
Marshall’s eyes narrowed dangerously as he looked at Natalie’s slightly flushed, breathtakingly beautiful face. Even in casual clothes, she was stunning. Her natural beauty made any outfit look good.
He was curious about one thing and didn’t hesitate to ask. “Natalie, how did you find out there was someone behind Joanna?”
