Called Off the Wedding, Left Him Bankrupt novel Chapter 158

His suit jacket was draped casually over his forearm as he stood by the curb, deep in conversation with a man Cynthia recognized from the news.

A faint smile played on his lips, his posture relaxed and at ease.

Cynthia couldn't help but steal a glance at him. When his eyes met hers, she quickly averted her gaze.

The man speaking with Dominic got into his car and drove away.

Dominic followed suit, climbing into his own car, but didn't drive off right away.

His car remained parked at the entrance of Halcyon Hall, blocking a whole line of vehicles behind him.

No one dared to step forward or complain.

Jocelyn's car was stuck in the queue as well. Since none of the drivers ahead dared to honk or rush things, Jocelyn's chauffeur wisely refrained from pushing forward. Instead, he called Jocelyn to explain the situation.

"I understand," Jocelyn replied.

Lowering her phone, she leaned over and whispered to Cynthia, "Nick's car is blocking the exit. Until he moves, we're not going anywhere."

Cynthia nodded. "It's all right. No rush."

Just then, her phone buzzed inside her bag.

She checked the screen—an incoming call from the landline at The Old Tremaine Estate.

Cynthia answered quickly, barely raising the phone to her ear before Camilla's anxious voice burst through.

"Miss Cynthia, Miss Juliet fainted! I've just called an ambulance to Capital General. Please, get to the hospital as soon as you can and meet me there!"

Cynthia's hand trembled as she clutched her phone. Even before the call ended, she was already rushing toward Dominic's car.

She rapped on his window.

The glass slid down, revealing Dominic's strikingly handsome face.
