Called Off the Wedding, Left Him Bankrupt novel Chapter 180

Eight-pack abs. Perfect V-cut lines.

The lines traced down from his abs, dipping lower, drawing her gaze into dangerous territory...

Overhead, a rough male voice shattered her moment of appreciation.

"What are you staring at?"

Cynthia flashed a sheepish smile and quickly looked away. "N-nothing, Mr. Holloway. Why don't you get dressed? I'll wait outside."

She made to leave, but the man in front of her stepped closer, leaning in until his eyes were level with hers.

"Are you comparing me to someone else in your head?"

Cynthia shook her head, honest and emphatic. "No. Absolutely not."

He was, without question, the most well-built man she'd ever seen—better than any of those half-naked guys who kept popping up in her social media feed lately.

Dominic's brow arched, his handsome face drawing even closer to hers.

Cynthia held her ground, stiffening her neck. The last thing she wanted was for Dominic to mistake her composure for guilt.

They were so close now; the air between them was thick with his overwhelming magnetism.

She'd managed to keep her cool until now, but suddenly, a flush crept up her cheeks.

Honestly, who could survive an onslaught like Mr. Holloway's good looks?

Dominic caught the pink blooming across her face and smiled, clearly pleased.

"So, what do you think?" His low, husky voice curled around her, seductive and impossible to ignore.

Cynthia's face burned. Her mind felt as if it were short-circuiting.

"Mr. Holloway, you have the best physique of any man I've ever seen."

The tie landed on her head before she could react. Cynthia gave a resigned little laugh, slipped it off, and answered quietly, "Of course, Mr. Holloway."

After all, she needed his help today. If she upset him now and he refused to go with her to the Tremaines, she'd be in real trouble.

Smiling, she began to straighten the tie. Dominic, still deep in conversation, gave her a brusque, "Hurry up."

He straightened to his full height in front of her, barely glancing down, and kept talking into the phone.

Cynthia knew he was tall, but she hadn't realized just how much taller until this moment.

She had to rise up on her toes to reach his collar.

Dominic was completely absorbed in his call, making no move to help her.

Her calves were starting to ache, so she gave his chest a gentle tap, hinting for him to bend down.

Dominic finally glanced down at her, but instead of lowering himself, he just rested a loose hand on her waist, still talking smoothly into the phone.
