Called Off the Wedding, Left Him Bankrupt novel Chapter 244

Father Benedict’s face changed in an instant. He spun on his heel, about to storm into Cynthia’s office, but Fred caught him by the arm and yanked him back.

Just then, the elevator doors slid open. Without the slightest hesitation, Fred shoved Benedict inside.

Benedict’s strength was no match for Fred’s; his struggles were useless.

Hearing the commotion, Cynthia stepped out of her office.

Benedict glared at her, jaw clenched.

“Cynthia! VistaSphere Group isn’t finished yet—it’s just hit a rough patch, and you’re already talking about shutting it down? Does it really mean that little to you?”

Cynthia met his anger with an air of calm composure. Her voice was steady, unhurried.

“VistaSphere’s success is just an extra feather in my cap, Benedict. I can keep it, or I can let it go. It doesn’t make much difference to me.”

A strange look flickered across Benedict’s face; his chest felt tight, as if something heavy had settled there.

Before he’d known Cynthia’s true identity, Benedict had always believed she would never abandon VistaSphere. Now he realized the truth: between the two of them, he needed the company far more than she ever would.

He couldn’t simply walk away, not the way Cynthia could.

Everything he’d achieved was tied to VistaSphere. Without his title as CEO, if he struck out on his own, it would be almost impossible to succeed again.

He needed VistaSphere more than anyone.

Benedict clenched his fists so hard his knuckles whitened. He was about to punch the elevator wall when the doors slid open.
