Called Off the Wedding, Left Him Bankrupt novel Chapter 341

Dominic shifted his gaze from Cynthia’s phone to her face, noticing the unusual flush in her cheeks.

“Are you warm?” he asked.

Cynthia forced a stiff smile and nodded. “A little.”

Without hesitation, Dominic turned down the air conditioning. He grabbed his phone and stretched out beside her, scrolling as he settled in.

Every so often, his arm or leg would brush against hers, purely by accident—or so it seemed.

Cynthia’s mind raced. If Dominic wasn’t so completely absorbed in his game, she would have suspected he was trying to tempt her into doing something scandalous.

Two adults, alone in an apartment, the subtle friction of bodies, the air growing thick with anticipation, and thoughts running wild... Under those circumstances, it was probably no surprise that they lost their round of the game.

The match had barely ended when Cynthia’s phone rang. Seeing Jocelyn’s name, Cynthia felt as if she’d been thrown a lifeline. She leaned toward Dominic and said softly, “Jocelyn’s calling. Let’s take a break from the game.”

Dominic nodded immediately. “Sure.”

Cynthia swiped to answer. “Jocelyn—”

She had barely spoken her friend’s name when Jocelyn’s voice erupted through the speaker.

“That guy in your Instagram story, that’s Nick, isn’t it? Are you two together? Did you sleep with him? How many times? Was it—”

Jocelyn’s voice was so loud and shameless, Cynthia’s face burned. Dominic was right there beside her—he definitely heard every word.

Cynthia sucked in a breath, yanked the phone away from her ear, and shot Dominic a panicked glance.

Dominic sat reclined next to her, the hint of a smirk playing at his lips as he watched her.

Flustered, Cynthia quickly stood up. “I’ll take this in my room.”

She retreated, closing the bedroom door behind her before pressing the phone to her ear again.

“Keep your voice down!” she hissed.

Chapter 341 1

Cynthia cut her off. “Just regular games. Nothing R-rated.”

Jocelyn let out a disappointed sigh. “Boring.”

Cynthia rolled her eyes. “Can you please stop with all the dirty scenarios running through your mind?”

Jocelyn groaned. “If you thought a little more like I do, you wouldn’t have any trouble landing Nick!”

Cynthia bit her lip and whispered, “That comes with a price.”

Chapter 341 2

Now, at this critical moment, she couldn’t let herself take that step with Dominic, or things would get complicated—fast.
