Jonah scoured every corner of the hotel, desperation clawing at his chest, but Julien was nowhere to be found.
"Jonah!" Alyssa called out, breathless as she caught up to him. She grabbed his arm. "Calm down! I'll help you search for Jul!"
"I can't find him. He's gone," Jonah murmured, sinking to the floor. His tears mixed with sweat, creating dark patches on the ground. "Lyse… I fear… if I can't find Julien this time, I'll lose him forever."
The agonizing thought of losing the love of his life pierced him.
"No, you won't!" Alyssa gripped his arm tighter, her voice trembling with conviction. "If Jul had given up on you, he wouldn't have come here today. The fact that he showed up means he still cares."
Jonah's eyes were bloodshot, filled with a pain too deep to hide. He shook his head slowly. "Julien came back for Jasper. He did it because he's loyal… because he's a good friend. Not because of me."
"He does care!" Alyssa insisted. "If he didn't, he would've faced you without flinching. But he didn't. He left without a word because he was avoiding you, Jonah. He just—"
Jonah cut Alyssa off, finishing her sentence. "He just doesn't want to see me. Because I'm a source of nothing but pain and rage for him, isn't that it?"
A bitter chuckle escaped Jonah's lips. The pain in his heart felt like a physical wound, torn open and brutally trampled.
Before Alyssa could respond, Xavier approached, his face drawn tight with tension.
"Ms. Alyssa. Mr. Jonah," he greeted, his voice rough. Turning to Jonah, he hesitated before speaking softly, "Mr. Jonah, you can stop searching. Dr. Lovelace has left the hotel."
Jonah's heart clenched. "Where did Julien go?" His voice was a raw whisper.
"He… didn't mention. He simply told me to pass this message to you."
Feeling utterly stressed out, Xavier continued in a low voice, "Dr. Lovelace said to please stop looking for him. He doesn't want to see you right now."
Choosing his words carefully, Xavier conveyed the gist of Julien's message, omitting the harshest parts. He simply couldn't bring himself to repeat them verbatim—the actual words had been too cutting.
The words hit Jonah like a punch to the chest. He stood frozen, the world blurring around him.

HI. I am stuck on 2454 for over 3 months now. Will there be any more chapters or we just have to stop waiting for it and forget about this book....
seems to have come to a halt useless...
Where are the chapters please ? Over a week no updates....
Just tell me where to purchase the book I definitely will buy it...
Need more chapters please...
It’s dwindled down to 1 page a day??...
7 chapters a day would be great...
I am trying to figure out why an author writes one page and it is suppose to be a chapter and then the author gets the audience hooked on the story and just drags it on. Follow the rules please, and at least give the 7 chapters daily. Two chapters every other day is a waste of time. Or just release the book and give us the option to buy it....
Ughhh…can we get more pleeeease! I’m so into this book and literally check daily for updates but it’s only two pages at most. Can you at least do 4 pages a night 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽...
