Theodore's words made Isabella freeze.
He then turned to her with a smile. His voice was gentle as he said, "We're home, Mrs. Sinclair."
Isabella snapped back to reality and glanced out the window, her eyes wide with confusion. She had grown up in Solara but rarely ventured far from her neighborhood. So, it wasn't surprising that this place felt unfamiliar.
However, the house in front of her left her stunned. It was clearly the home of someone wealthy. Every tree and flower in sight was far from ordinary.
"Where are we?" she asked, bewildered.
Theodore had already stepped out of the car and opened the door for her. In a gentlemanly gesture, he held his hand over her head, then answered, "Aether Heights."
The name of the place sounded vaguely familiar.
Suddenly, it hit Isabella. It was the most exclusive neighborhood in Solara. Why were they here?
Before she could ask, Theodore declared, "From now on, you'll be the lady of this house!"
It was only when they reached the villa's entrance that Isabella accepted the truth.
As Theodore pressed the keypad, Isabella instinctively turned her head. But then, his voice reached her ear, tinged with amusement. "The code is your birthday."
With that, the door swung open, and she stared in shock.
"I-Is this really your house?" she asked, her voice full of disbelief.
Isabella knew her expression must have looked ridiculous, but she couldn't help it.
She had been the one to offer financial support. Yet here she was, riding in a luxury car, moving into a villa, and watching him hand her adoptive parents five million dollars. In the end, it felt like she was the kept woman.
"Yeah. A friend gifted it to me. I helped him once, and since he was moving abroad, he gave me the house."
Theodore had said it so casually, but Isabella knew it couldn't have been a small favor. She had heard that houses here were worth tens of millions.
