Cheated Once Cherished Forever: The Billionaire's Bride novel Chapter 166

Originally, Isabella and Theodore were supposed to leave after the memorial.

Isabella was not used to staying at the Sinclair residence, and she generally had trouble sleeping in unfamiliar beds. However, because of the incident with Ethan, they could not leave. Everyone was waiting for a resolution.

Theodore escorted Isabella back to their room and ordered the maids to bring her some late-night snacks. Earlier, during dinner, he noticed that she barely ate anything.

It was true that Isabella had no appetite. No matter what she did, there was always someone staring at her. She had just pushed the food around her plate, unable to eat anymore.

She had not expected Theodore to notice everything.

"Do you want to have a bite too?" Isabella asked softly.

She looked at the table full of pastries. She would not be able to finish all of them even if she had a bottomless pit for a stomach.

Before Theodore could answer, his phone rang. As he took out his phone, he lowered his head and planted a light kiss on Isabella's lips.

"There. I might not be full, but that certainly took the edge off."

After saying that, he walked out to answer the phone, leaving a blushing Isabella behind.

"What is it?" Theodore's tone was flat. His voice was only gentle when he spoke to Isabella.

Caleb's voice came from the other end of the line. "Mr. Sinclair, Jessie Hall died."

Theodore did not speak. If Jessie had simply died, Caleb would not have called him to report on it. She was an insignificant person, after all.

Sure enough, Caleb continued, "Before she died, Jessie left a letter for Mrs. Sinclair."

Theodore frowned slightly. After thinking for a few seconds, he said, "Bring it here."

Theodore suddenly gripped the phone tighter, the edge of the screen digging painfully into his palm. He looked up toward the room. That was the only way he could ease his mind at this moment.

"Find someone to imitate Jessie's handwriting. Write another letter, and then show that one to Isabella," Theodore said.

Caleb understood and replied, "I'll handle it immediately."

Theodore spoke again, this time through gritted teeth. He turned his head, his eyes now filled with murderous intent. "Send her body back to her family. Have someone watch the Hall family. I don't want those people to appear in front of Isabella!"

Caleb replied immediately, "Yes, Mr. Sinclair."

The call ended, and Theodore went downstairs. Just as his figure disappeared at the top of the stairs, Alexander opened the door of the utility room next to it and walked out.

His expression was dark, and his unreadable gaze landed on the staircase, betraying nothing of what was running through his mind.
