Cheated Once Cherished Forever: The Billionaire's Bride novel Chapter 67

"Someone's here to see you, Ms. Moore," the company receptionist, Chloe Page, informed Isabella over the phone.

Isabella was rather puzzled as to who had come to see her. When she went downstairs and saw Giselle sitting on a couch in the lobby, she couldn't help but frown. Why wouldn't this family stop hounding her?

Isabella walked over, sat down across from Giselle, and asked impatiently, "What are you doing here?"

Giselle looked her up and down before replying, "You're doing pretty well right now, Isabella. You look like a completely different person. But no matter how much you've changed, you'll always be that same pitiful wretch whom no one loves!"

"If you came to the company to mock me, Giselle, I have no time to waste on you."

Giselle scoffed. "Do you think I have time to waste on you? Would I have bothered coming back to Alverton if you hadn't absolutely refused to give our parents money?"

Isabella sneered. It looked like Giselle had learned that Richard and Margaret had received five million dollars from her. She had now returned from abroad to wring more money out of her.

She asked scornfully, "What makes you think I'll give you money just because you've returned from abroad, Giselle?"

Giselle laughed, then pushed her phone across the table toward Isabella.

"Why?" she asked arrogantly. "This is why."

Isabella looked down and saw a photo of a bracelet on Giselle's phone. It was nothing but an ordinary-looking silver bracelet, but Isabella immediately paled at the sight, because that bracelet belonged to her.

She had brought it out of the orphanage with her, and it was also her only connection to her biological parents. Although she had long given up on looking for her biological parents after so many years, she still cherished her only memento of them.

However, the bracelet went missing a few years ago. She had searched long and hard for it back then. She always kept the bracelet in the same spot, so there was no way it would have gone missing unless someone took it.

"Giselle Moore! I knew you were the one who stole it! Back then, you refused to admit that you took it when I accused you of the theft! Richard and Margaret blamed me for wrongly accusing you too. Give it back!"

Giselle put away her phone and looked contemptuously at Isabella. Since young, she had always pushed all the blame for her wrongdoings on Isabella. When Isabella was eventually punished, she would even smugly enjoy the show from the sidelines.

"I can return it to you if you want, Isabella. According to Mom, you've become acquainted with a wealthy man who was easily able to fork out five million dollars the last time. Three million dollars should definitely be nothing to him this time too, don't you think?"

"Dream on!" Isabella spat in a low growl.

Giselle smiled maliciously. "I'll just destroy this cheap bracelet of yours, then!"
