Isabella smiled and replied in an understanding manner, "It's fine."

As she said that, she let go of Theodore's hand to get into the backseat. But before she could get into the car, Theodore grabbed her hand again. Isabella paused, then looked back at him with a perplexed look in her eyes.

Queenie, who was seated in the car, watched Theodore with a frown on her face too.

"Theodore?" she asked.

He explained, "The road up to the mountain is a little tricky to navigate, so we'll need a driver who's familiar with the road conditions. I contacted Yannick this morning to get him to send a driver over to pick us up. He should be here soon."

Right after he said that, a car approached and came to a stop before the few of them. The driver was a middle-aged man with a kind appearance. He emerged from the car and greeted them in a friendly voice, "Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair!"

Then, he asked, "Mr. Sinclair, would it be alright for you to ride in Mr. Jones' car?"

Theodore nodded. "Sure thing."

Upon hearing that, the driver promptly opened the back door. "Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair, please get in."

Queenie, who was still sitting in Theodore's car, turned livid. The driver hadn't noticed that she was in the other car. He returned to his driver's seat and turned the engine on, looking like he was ready to drive off.

Infuriated, Queenie opened the door and got out of the car on her own. She stormed to the other car and opened the door to the front passenger seat, flying into a rage out of embarrassment.

She reprimanded the driver, "What's wrong with you? Didn't you realize that I hadn't gotten into the car?"

The driver had genuinely overlooked her. He even jumped in fright when he saw someone popping up just like that. He was momentarily caught in a daze from Queenie's yelling, but he still apologized promptly, "I'm sorry, miss. I really didn't see you. I'm really sorry."

Queenie harrumphed. "I reckon you're just blind. Why did Yannick even hire you?"

"Queenie," Theodore warned in a firm tone.

Queenie was just about to continue yelling at the driver when she heard Theodore's voice. She froze instantly, then mumbled miserably, "What did I do…"

Theodore ignored her and said to the driver, "I'm sorry, sir. My friend isn't in a particularly good mood today."

The word "friend" infuriated Queenie even further. She didn't utter a single word while Isabella and Theodore chatted and laughed with one another along the way.

Isabella did so intentionally to frustrate Queenie. Even though she wasn't usually that much of a chatterbox, she chattered away nonstop today, putting Queenie in a flustered state.
