Queenie decided not to act courteously toward Isabella in front of everyone. She continued to criticize her.

"Just consider Theodore's status. How could he go with you to do such things? Plus, if he injures himself, are you going to be responsible for it?"

"Queenie!" Theodore warned.

He shot her a fierce glare. "Do not speak to Isa like that. She's like a sister-in-law to you."

Someone in their group inhaled sharply, failing to hold their breath. Even though they were there as a group, none of them dared to make a sound or even draw a breath.

Theodore likening Isabella to Queenie's "sister-in-law" set her off. She screamed, "When did she become someone like my sister-in-law? You're not even like a brother to me!"

In a deep voice, Theodore asked, "I'm not? Who am I to you, then?"

"You're—"

Suddenly, Queenie stopped mid-sentence. She gazed at Theodore deeply as she questioned him back in a sorrowful tone instead, "Who are you to me? Don't you know who you are to me? It's been so many years, Theodore. Can't you see it?"

Isabella chuckled softly. It felt like she was an outsider standing here. She wanted to turn around and leave, but her chuckle provoked Queenie.

All of a sudden, Queenie shouted at her, "Ms. Moore! What's so funny?"

Isabella was rendered speechless. Was she not allowed to laugh? Was she supposed to cry instead?

"Ms. Klein, I wasn't laughing at you," she clarified honestly.

"What were you laughing at, then?"

Theodore interjected again, "Queenie Klein!"

Isabella tugged at him, stopping him from saying anything else while she turned to face Queenie. "Ms. Klein, you asked me if I'd be responsible if Theodore injured himself. That made me wonder. I'm his lawfully-wedded wife. If I'm not the person taking accountability for his affairs, who else would it be?"

Queenie did not know what to say. Right at this moment, the others, who had been watching the argument silently, finally spoke up.

Yannick said, "Hey, hey, it's fine. You're just going to harvest some brussels sprouts, right? I'll join you. I'd like to experience something new too."
