118 Parker There she was , Belladonnas wolf on the surface in full for the first time ever , her eyes were all blue and brilliant like neon lights .

She was looking at the children that were hers for the first time , and he would not interrupt that bonding moment .

She was he saw making her own connection to them , attaching herself and bonding properly to them .

In all likelihood , something she herself had craved and been denied all those years , and now she could finally show them that she was there and loved them .

He also thought that her wolf understood that Milly was not actually hers .

Shed not birthed her , but there was so much love on display for that little girl that he and Vex knew she loved Milly as if she was her own , the way she touched her and held her said it all .

This wolf had craved to hold her children , the way she looked at Whit and how the boy responded to her himself .

Hed always known deep down inside that Freya wasnt his mother and as he watched and listened to them , he understood why theyd not felt their mother die , it wasnt death at all , that wolfen attachment was to Venus and not Freya , and Venus had never died at all , was always still with Belladonna .

Venus was her name , and he felt happiness roll off his beast as they heard her introduce herself , but she didnt look at him at all , only her children mattered , and that tore at him , and Vex whined in pain inside of him .

He pushed past it .

Her wolf had no attachment to him or his beast and he couldnt expect anything else , being overlaid by Freya the entire time theyd known her , been bonded to het , and yes , he understood his wolfs pain .

Because they loved her and wanted her , and to have her wolf just not want to connect to them or even look at them at all , it hurt .

Kind of felt like they were being rejected all over again , just like the last time hed been in here with Belladonna when shed told him she wanted her wolf to find her Goddess Gifted and wouldnt be accepting him .

That pain was now being compounded , and his wolf was hurting because now it wasnt just Belladonna rejecting them , but her wolf as well .

He could only try and give her what she wanted , regardless of how he and Vex felt .

She had that right , but Vex wanted her .

He could feel it , his wolf wanted to meet Venus , have her look at him and speak to him the way she had done their son .

He wanted to have that connection to her as well , but shed not even looked at them , didnt , Vex thought want to be attached to him .

Parker could only help Belladonna up off the floor .

He didnt actually think shed be able to do it herself , not with her injuries .

Though hed not liked the way shed snatched her hands away from him the moment she could , and wouldnt look at him .

Is she healing you ? he asked , hed just moved the children .

and her belongings into that suite on the Alpha floor and organised for Meredith to be there and help her out during the days .

Mm , it appears so .

she nodded .

I dont know how fast it will be … kind of feels light and slow going , I guess .

she murmured , staring at her hands in her lap , seemed unable to maintain eye contact with him .

Ill leave your things in the packhouse for now then .

Just in case her not being fully realised affects the healing process .

Though it shouldnt happen at all , only fully realised wolves could heal their human counterparts , so that was a bit odd to him .

But nothing about Belladonna was normal .

She just nodded without looking at him as Milly tugged at his pant leg , and he smiled down at her and picked her up , put her on the bed next to Belladonna , knew it was what she wanted .

Knew that Belladonna wasnt allowed to pick her up until she was fully healed and without her wolf , that was at least four weeks .

So , in the past week , hed often done it , just picked her up and put her on bed .

Milly didnt even hesitate to ask him anymore , not for anything they were bonding with each other .

She just asked him if she wanted a drink or food , to use the bathroom or wanted to go outside and play .

She just came up to him the way she always did to Belladonna and Whitney .

She trusted him , and he thought maybe she was starting to look at him like her dad even .

The way she climbed into his lap to have him read her a book at night , even Whit smiled at him when she did it .

But he was likely about to lose her .

Hed already accepted her , and he knew it .

She was Belladonnas daughter , so there for his as far as he was concerned .

Not him , not vex .

Have you told Annette yet about your wolf ? he asked her , needing a distraction from his thoughts from the feeling of her pulling away and rejecting him once more .

No , it literally just happened minutes before you came into the room .

Belladonna nodded once more but looked very uncomfortable with him in this room now , and he realised she didnt want him in this room at all .

He didnt think it was , and he heard Vex whine inside him once more , as pain touched their chest .

He didnt like the feeling he was getting from her at all .

If he didnt know any better , hed say he was starting to feel a mate bond being severed from him .

But he also knew they were in love with her .

It wasnt just him but his wolf as well , and she did 110 not love them back .

She was now uncomfortable in a room with him , because she had her wolf , one that didnt care about them .

Parker took a step back as he wondered if this was what humans felt when the one they loved didnt love them back .

Ill go and get Annette , he stated , and left the room .

He needed to leave the room , because pulling on his bloodline wasnt going to hold him , he wasnt going to be able to ignore that pain for much longer , so he needed to be away from her , so she didnt see it , and feel guilty .
