39 Parker Belladonna was wearing simple soft blue and white scrubs , as shed walked into the packhouse , talking to a male wolf who was also wearing scrubs much the same as hers , though she had snowflakes all over her top and his was plain .

Parker could see that he liked Belladonna , he could hear the flirtatious note in the mans tone , but he supposed that man could well be her boyfriend .

The way she smiled and laughed at him as well ; it was completely possible .

She smelled exactly the same to him , no other venom ran through her veins bar his own .

And only his bite mark could be seen .

There was no overlapping to it , to indicate a second bite .

She smiled at him though addressed him formally .

That irked him more than a little .

For the eight years theyd been together shed called him Parker ; at his request , after about a month of her being mated to him , and shed still been completely formal with him , hed told her to just call him Parker .

Shed stumbled over it a few times , until shed gotten used to it .

He wanted to sit down and talk to her , really see how shed been , but she had other things to do , and didnt appear to want to talk with him , had moved on in her life , and he could tell he did not concern her at all .

He watched her head upstairs and sighed internally to himself She is going to see someone Shannon interrupted his thoughts with a mind link .

From what I got , hes important to her , shes missed him due to all the babies shed had to deliver .

Oh … the wolf with her ? he questioned .

She likes him , more than friends , I dare say .

It was obvious they worked together all the time ; hed seen the title on the mans scrubs anaesthetist .

Though honestly , hed thought she would have more of a reaction to seeing him for the first time in such a long time .

Hed been hoping that there was still some sort of connection to her , that made her at least curious about him or the pack shed once been the Luna of .

Didnt appear to at all .

He saw her come trotting down the stairs almost an hour later , he was still sitting there in the foyer .

She headed on passed him with a simple nod , and he figured she was heading back to the hospital , likely off to deliver another pup .

Then she hesitated and stopped walking , looked right at him , he stood Yes , Belladonna ? he asked , knew she had a question for him .

Hows Annette doing ? she asked .

He blinked , wasnt expecting her to ask that , but answered her Shes fine , misses you still .

Asked about a year ago , if Id found you .

He watched as she frowned right at him Why would you be looking for me ? she asked right back .

Annette wants you to come back to the pack , work with her once more .

Still states youre the best OBG / YN shes ever known .

He watched her smile now and actually felt his heart flutter at the sight of it .

He had to shake it off , it had not been something hed seen often during their mate bond .

Her directing a full blown smile like that at him , kind of took him for six .

Aston shrugged , and that you state you didnt know where she was .

If I recall correctly , she did an interview once and stated she worked at a university hospital , but she never said which one .

Aston raised an eyebrow at him but said nothing , turned his attention to another Alpha that was sitting around , who would be attending his mating ball later this evening .

There were several of them all sitting around waiting for that ball to start .

He didnt see her at the mating ball or the next morning when he was checking his wolves status , not even as he drove away from the packhouse .

She had no interest at all in seeing him again or catching up , not with him or his unit , and they did all actually get along with Belladonna , liked her , and shed smiled at them all the time .

He had told Alpha Aston and his Luna , Mala , that hed like them to say goodbye to her for him , and that he hoped to see her still well and happy the next time he was there inside the pack .

That he also hoped Aston would see to bringing some of his own wolves over to Lustrous Moon for a mating ball .

He would send an invitation .

Theyd both nodded at him and seen him off , and it was then a long drive back to his pack .

Annette will be happy to hear Bellas doing well .

But annoyed to know she wont come back AIA +10 Points 39 even for an internship .

Kane murmured .

Mm , Belladonna was right though , it probably is not at all appropriate , I doubt Carina would handle it or be happy about it , likely veto it .

Parker stated as he looked out the window .

Shannon snorted from the back seat , Likely ? She still hates hearing the womans name even in passing .

Is jealous of a she wolf that has not been around for just over eight years , not once returned or even asked to , never came back .

He never mentioned Belladonnas name , though at times in the packhouse it was still heard by the hospital staff , there was nothing he could do about it .

She had been a good doctor , and they missed her and her skillset .

Those Belladonna had saved from certain death still thought she was blessing , and wanted her back .

The packs birthrate had dropped off considerably over the past eight years as well .

Now there were only one or two pups every month , no explosions in births due to her going into heat , as Annette had told him was her theory .

Seems that was actually true .

They were also back to losing one in every eight or ten pups or she wolves during childbirth .

He was willing to bet the Hollowed Moons death rate was non existent , where she wolves and pups were concerned , that girl was likely blessed by Selena herself .
