78 Belladonna She stood with Whit and saw Parker and Kane off from the packhouse stairs .

A part of her couldnt really believe he was actually leaving and going back to his pack without Whit .

Hed told her and Whitney that he would come back in a month to spend four or five days getting to know them .

That theyd eventually work out a custody agreement of some sort .

She knew hed already gotten permission from Aston to come back and be in the pack .

She had been there when Parker had discussed it .

Whit looked up at her after Parker left .

Hes weird .

He murmured and even Aston chuckled from next to her .

Its not weird Whit .

Parker is just trying to show you that he respects not only your decision , but Bells as well .

Though I personally dont know many Alphas who would do what hes doing .

Which is why its weird , Whit stated .

Which is what exactly ? Bella asked .

Allowing you to see that it is your choice , but at the same time showing both you and Whit that he wants you inside his pack .

That he would like to instate Whit as his heir , but that he wont do so unless Whit himself wants that .

Aston smiled at her .

Hes being respectful of you , Bell , treating you like an Alpha , and treating Whit as his son who he wants to get to know properly .

I think the man will wait patiently for the two of you to make a decision and even respect what it will be .

Regardless of if its not what he wants .

What decision ? Whit asked , looking at Aston with a slight frown .

Moving to his pack , that is what he wants .

But he wants it to be completely your decision .

I dont see Parker just trying to pack you up and take you back to his pack like so many others would do .

Aston nodded .

I dont think that is who he is .

Hed get his butt kicked by the Luna if he tried it .

Whit chuckled .

Yes , he would .

Aston nodded .

But thats not the reason for him waiting Whit .

Aston stated and waved Whit off , and the boy headed for school .

How do you feel Bell ? he asked her .

I dont know .

She answered honestly .

Ive never thought about going back .

And she hadnt , but now she knew that Parker had been robbed of knowing about Whit and he had files on her home pack inside his pack .

Files he was willing to let her look at .

Hed also offered to look into 1/4 78 +8 Point her mother .

Who she was , and maybe he could find out where she was .

I should go to the hospital , she stated and Aston nodded .

She attended rounds and sat in her office , and did something shed not done before : logged into the intranet and checked on her home pack .

She had never been interested in knowing what was going on inside that place , because shed not liked growing up there .

She put the packs name in and stared at the words Pack Dissolved .

There was no pack anymore .

She clicked on the link that was attached to it and found out that it had been dissolved 7 years ago under her half brothers reign .

Lack of growth was the reason why .

She could see that the pack had been barely 200 wolves when it had been dissolved and that those wolves had been sent to other packs .

There was a list of packs that the wolves had gone to , though it didnt state who went where .

She understood that , it was likely to protect them .

She read down the list and shook her head .

Some of those wolves were in Parkers subsidiary packs , but none in the main pack .

After his words about her father , she doubted any of her actual family or siblings were there .

Certainly not her father or the Luna she didnt think .

She put her fathers name into the search bar and found that hed been sent to the Wolfen Kingdom along with his Luna for crimes against wolves , it read .

The date preceded the dissolving of the pack .

She sighed and leaned back in her chair and wondered if her mother was one of the wolves that Parker had stated had been enslaved into his pack .

She couldnt even put the womans name into the search bar because she didnt know it .

Freya claimed to be her mothers wolf but had never stated her mothers name , not once .

It was odd , but she wouldnt cough it up , simply stated Leave her be , she needs peace .

Those words echoed inside her mind along with Parkers Your father was a brute .

And she just knew her mother had not been a willing participant in her conception .

So you were of no use to them .

Or that is how I made it appear .

What ? You are just like her .

I hide that from the world as best I can .

Despite what Selena states .

Im protecting you , not causing you harm .

Freya sighed inside her mind .

Bella sighed herself now .

She had no idea what Freya and Selena talked about , because she was rendered unconscious by her own Goddess , so she wasnt privy to their discussions .

You dont make sense to me , you know that , right ? Mm , its just how it needs to be .

One day youll understand my will and intent .

Freya yawned I 3/4 78 sleep now , three babies are coming tonight +8 Points What ? There arent any due .

Bella frowned deeply now .

But come they will .

Freya told her and rolled over inside her mind to settle down and go to sleep .

Freya was not wrong .

That night , three babies came during the night , one girl and two boys and all of them were not due for two to three weeks , but there they were , healthy little babies , safely delivered by herself and her team of nurses .

Then Freya was yawning inside her mind once more .

She felt exhausted to Bella , and it worried her , Freya , are you okay ? she asked her wolf .

Yes , just tired , my work here is nearly done .

Freya answered , Ill slumber for a long time when its completed .

Its normal , you will be fine and so will I.

was all her wolf told her .

Though it still bothered Bella , Freyas once brilliantly sparkling eyes were now dark and only glinted a little inside her mind before Freya closed her eyes , and was once again sleeping .

She had never truly understood her wolf and had the distinct feeling that Freya was dying but wouldnt voice it out loud .

That the slumber shed just talked of was not sleep but death , coming to claim her .

Shed claimed to be her mothers wolf , perhaps she was no ones wolf .

Just a soul that was bound to live a long lonely life with no human counterpart of her own .

So latched onto anyone around her and took up residence in their body when their other human died .

Was this why Selena always appeared annoyed with Freya when looking at her ? Was that why Freya told her with full certainty that she had no mate down here in the human realm ? Was it simply that she didnt have one at all and Freya knew this to be true because she was old , maybe ancient even ? 8
