Ryan was annoyed by Ruth. "Why should we be afraid of them? Didn't Patrick divorce Amelia? At that time, the news, newspapers, and internet have bombarded the matter for a few days and so it's made known that Amelia has nothing to do with the Hopper family anymore. Well, they've given up their own, so why can't others fight for Amelia now?"

Ruth felt wronged by his provocation. "I... I just want to give it a further thought."

"No matter how we plan it, we have to put the main consideration on the interests of themselves!" Ryan asked eagerly. "Sawyer, Amelia, what do you think?"

Amelia hurriedly looked at Sawyer. Meanwhile, their palms which had not been separated since they showed up, started to sweat.

Sawyer then asked, "Dad, do you think Amelia is the kind of person who likes to attract the attention of public?"

Ryan was taken aback.

Sawyer continued, "In the past, Amelia has always been in the teeth of public controversy and has long grown tired of such a life. If possible, she would rather live a peaceful life. If Dad insists that we announce our relationship, won't you be making things difficult for her?"

Ryan narrowed his eyes and replied with an aim, "Hmph, do you think I'm that muddled up? When Amelia and Patrick were divorcing, it was rumoured that you were the one who meddled with their marriage. The news headlines even revealed your photo with Amelia and Abner!"

"When you were interviewed by the media regarding this, your words were ambiguous, which caused the public to mistake Abner as Amelia's child. It can be said you're part of the reason why Amelia was troubled by public opinion!"

"Since it has already happened, there's no use for me to keep talking about it. But now, since you've decided to be with Amelia, you must be responsible as I don't want Amelia to get hurt the same way again!"

Ryan was indeed happy when he first got to know about their relationship, but after he calmed down he suddenly became worried.

Because he was not sure whether Sawyer truly loved Amelia or if he was taking advantage of her.

Was Sawyer trying to take revenge on Patrick again by using Amelia?

If that was the case, Ryan would not spare him!

After Ryan's reminder, Ruth immediately looked back and forth between Amelia and Sawyer with suspicion.

Sawyer's gaze flickered before he quickly explained, "It makes sense that Dad's worried. How about this? I'll discuss in private with Amelia to pick a suitable timing and reveal our relationship to the public. Are you satisfied with that, Dad?"

Ryan shot him a thoughtful look. "That will be great."

After a pause, Ryan said kindly to Amelia, "Amelia, if that br*t bullies you, don't hold it in. Feel free to tell me about it, okay?"

Amelia sensibly put on a smile. But deep down, she felt frustrated. "Okay, Uncle Quartley."

"Then, I'll go back with Ruth first. There's a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the wine factory today for a new product, so I have to attend it."

As Ryan spoke, he turned back to look at Abner who was quiet the entire time. As Abner had always been in such a state, Ryan did not think too much about it. "Abner, grandpa and grandma are about to leave. Can you say 'goodbye' to us?"

Abner did not respond.

"This kid..." Ryan shook his head with a wry smile, but he was used to it. He called Ruth and was ready to leave.

Before they left, Ruth could not help but remind the two, mostly telling them to watch Abner's health. Fortunately, the child was no longer sick. Otherwise, Ruth might have stayed to look after him.

Both Sawyer and Amelia heaved a sigh of relief. One was happy that the secret was not exposed, while the other was glad that she had saved the child in her belly.

After Sawyer personally ordered men to send Ryan and Ruth off the island, Sawyer shut the door. Just like that, Amelia was immediately isolated from the outside world again.

Abner was obviously in shock, but when he saw that it was Amelia whom he had relied on, he immediately showed a contented expression.

After Sawyer watched them for a while, he suddenly turned and walked in another direction.

He then called up the men in black who were in charge of monitoring closely the happenings on the island that day and asked why did they not report in advance before they let Ryan and Ruth enter.

"Mr. Quartley, I saw that they went straight to your villa the moment they landed on the island, so I thought they had made an appointment with you in advance." one of the men analyzed rationally.

"What's more, they're your parents!" The other spoke from the perspective of relationships.

Either way, Sawyer felt helpless.

Speaking of carelessness, he was the reason for what happened. If he had taken care of where he placed his phone, this would not have happened.

Sissi waited for a long time and finally saw Sawyer's return. She rushed over and asked, "Sawyer, how did it go? Is it settled?"
