Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1452

"I don't believe that you don't know." Sawyer seemed to be forcing Amelia to say the name.

Stung by his meaningful look, Amelia immediately buried her head to eat uneasily. "I don't."

Sawyer then showed a faint smile, but his eyes looked a little sad. "Ms. Amelia, I thought that I could endure this indefinitely until the day she turns back and looks at me instead."

Amelia paused as she did not know why was Sawyer telling her about that. Was it because they were in similar positions in a relationship? They were the type to silently contribute while waiting for a return.

Or perhaps, Sawyer was not as confident as how others had perceived him. He might feel flustered and wished to confide in someone at times too.

Or could Sawyer be intentionally saying that to gain Amelia's sympathy and lower her guard?

Who knew?

"Ms. Amelia, you should know how awful this feels." Sawyer went on.

Amelia remained silent.

Finally, not knowing if he was tired of it or satisfied with how much he had let on, Sawyer stood up and casually concluded.

"You can't have your cake and eat it. Either Patrick or I will be defeated. Ms. Amelia, since you once helped me, I advise you not to remarry him if you don't want to be a widow."

Amelia dropped the food in her hands. Then, she raised her head in anger and glared at Sawyer. "You should take this up with Sissi since I'm not the two-minded one. Why should Patrick and I bear the final burden?" If Patrick died, her life would end as well!

The two seemed to have their moods exchanged as Sawyer became indifferent while Amelia was depressed.

After a long pause, Sawyer lowered his gaze slightly and seemed to gave a wry smile. "I can't do anything with Sissi."

Amelia was takan aback. Did he mean that even though Sawyer knew Sissi's character, he still intended to let her be?

"Then," before Sawyer left the room, Amelia said clearly and impassively, "I hope that you're the one that's to be defeated!"

In the hospital.

While they pushed an emergency cart along a smooth and straight passage, a nurse whispered to her companion, who was holding a medical plate beside her, "Hey, did you see the patient Dr. Bledel sent here? He's as handsome as I've described, right?"

"Yes, yes!" The nurse's companion's hand that was holding the plate trembled in excitement. "He's so handsome! He looks better than anyone I've dreamed of!"

"Come on, isn't your dream lover Supervisor Wang? He's in his forties and has even divorced. How can he be comparable to Mr. Patrick!" The nurse that was wheeling the cart scornfully said.

The nurse companion replied with embarrassment, "I'm just an ordinary person, so I can hardly meet such handsome and rich men. Supervisor Wang is already quite a great choice amongst the men I know!" "That's why I brought you here today to broaden your vision! I assure you that you'll no longer be fawning over Supervisor Wang after this."

"Okay, you're the best!" The companion nodded vigorously.

"But then again, the two men next to Mr. Patrick also have their own attractiveness. If we fail to attract Mr. Patrick, either of them can do as well." The nurse was obsessed with her wishful thoughts.

While they talked, a person dressed in army green passed by them.

When he heard Patrick's name, he turned around and asked politely, "Hello, nurses. Are you two talking about Patrick Hopper?"

But, Patrick was more anxious than them to the point that he would go crazy if he did not find something to occupy himself with!

With the situation in Florence, Patrick had continuously called to rush them.

However, the replies he received were always something along the lines of 'Keep calm' and 'The evidence is on its way'. Owen, who was busy with criminals and investigations, could hardly draw any attention to his matter either. So, the only thing Patrick could and should do was to wait.

Only after hearing Wayne did Patrick realize that another half day had passed and that he had to continue waiting.

It caused him to lose his appetite. "You can eat first if you're hungry."

"No, no, no. You've been busy with work, and you haven't eaten yet. I don't deserve to eat when I'm just idling." Wayne was terrified.

Patrick found him a little amusing and said, "Wayne, I don't blame you about the matter concerning Amelia and her baby. You don't have to act so timidly."

Wayne paused for a moment and asked, "Then, can I dig in?"

"Go ahead." Patrick truly did not think of stopping him.

Meanwhile, a series of knocks sounded from the door. Wayne muttered, "I'll go open it." Then, he threw his spoon down and stood up.

At the door.

Before Wayne questioned him, the young man in military uniform patted the bag in his hand and said on his own initiative, "I'm here to deliver something urgent to Mr. Patrick on Captain Hopper's order."
