Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1489

Did Amy just asked him to go to work?

Patrick's heart sank, he coldly instructed to the person on the other side of the phone, "Gather all the information first, I'll be there."

After hanging up, Patrick immediately grabbed Amelia's hand and said softly, "I'm sorry for troubling you, Amy."

"I'm not troubled at all! It's okay for me being home alone."

"No, I wasn't talking about this."

"Then, you were referring to...?" Amelia looked at him, bewildered.

"Come to Roxxon with me." Patrick gently squeezed her hand and glanced at her encouragingly.

"What? Me, going to Roxxon with you?" Amelia was shocked.

"I know that you're not in the mood to deal with strangers now, but it doesn't matter. I will take you to my office directly. You can read, use the laptop or even take a nap there, as long as I'm able to see you."

Amelia was right in thinking that Patrick was afraid that she would follow in Petty's footsteps.

Although she was not related to Petty and there were no genetic similarities between them, but when people are faced with some setbacks, the tendency to do something similar is high, and selfharm was one of them. Patrick would never allow this to happen to Amelia.

"Mr. Hopper..."

Amelia was about to speak when Patrick interrupted her, "If you won't come, then I won't hold the meeting anymore."

Amelia felt dizzy. "Are you being petty with me right now?"

Patrick corrected her, "I'm not being petty, I'm being serious."

"Fine." Amelia shrugged her shoulders. "I can go, but if people gossip about this later, I can't help you."

Upon hearing this, another worry arose in Patrick's heart.

He only thought about taking Amelia with him, but he forgot how much criticism they would suffer if both of them entered the company together.

Amelia used to be an employee of Roxxon Corporation, and everyone knew of their relationship. If Patrick were to take her to the company without any consideration, he would definitely attract a lot of attention.

Usually, Patrick could put his arm around Amelia's waist and publicly announce that they were remarrying, unconcerned about the trouble he might potentially stir up later.

But at this moment, Amelia had just experienced the most painful experience in her life. How could he bear to see her being unwittingly pulled into the vortex of Roxxon's public opinion?

Indeed, they had agreed beforehand that they would find a suitable time to make their relationship public.

But at that time, none of them knew Amelia's real identity, and no one was disturbed by this yet.

At this point, the complications already arose, and this critical moment, did he actually intend to drag her out and show her off in public?

Patrick suddenly had an impulse to hit himself hard.

"Mrs. Hopper, forget it. I'd better stay at home and accompany you."

After a moment of silence, Patrick picked up his phone and prepared to call off the meeting.

Amelia raised her eyebrows, "You were the one who said that you'd go to Roxxon, and now you're the one to say that you'd stay. Why don't you let me make the decision as someone involved in this problem?"

Patrick agreed, but he pleaded, "You can make the decision, but it has to be that we are at the same place."

Amelia nodded, "I'll go to Roxxon with you then."

She did not want to delay his work, whilst Patrick did not want her to leave his sight, so this was the only option.

Noticing Amelia's stunned expression, Patrick stretched out his arm to embrace her and bit her ears. "Did you forget how Roxxon looks like after not being here for so long?"

Amelia recovered from her shock and gave him a strange look.

Patrick felt a little uneasy under her gaze. He could not help himself and patted her hair, "Let's go to my office."

When they came to the elevator, Amelia distinctly saw the "not in use" label, but Patrick still used it as usual.

However, Amelia gave up the idea of warning him because she knew that Patrick would not gamble with all three of their lives.

Today's elevator was the smoothest and the most spacious one that she had ever seen in Roxxon.

In the past, when she was at work here, it was like a can of sardines every time she went up and down the elevator.

After leaving the elevator, Amelia followed Patrick into his private office. She was nervous all the way.

This was because this floor was the place where high-level officials of Roxxon often went to and fro most often. They would always discuss decisions with Patrick and wait on him to make a final decision.

Patrick felt Amelia's body stiffen and instinctively he moved his hand behind her to comfort her.

Amelia also noticed that she was a little too nervous, so she began to readjust her breath and relaxed with Patrick's help.

As he saw Amelia's body softened at last, Patrick curled his lips. Then he put his hand back to her waist and hugged her intimately.

Looking at the words "President's Office" in front of her, Amelia was in a trance. She walked a long way and managed to finish with his help.

Patrick twisted the handle of the door and pushed his elbow forward. After opening the office door, he looked sideways at the petite woman next to him and invited, "Amy, let's go in."

Amelia nodded gently and eagerly walked in.
