Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1538

Milton suddenly put down his chopsticks and looked at her. "Actually, your fingers are slender and flexible. You have the most beautiful hands I've ever seen in my life."

Maryanne fell silent. Did he think that she was feeling down because of her hideous hands?

Afraid that Maryanne was not convinced, Milton emphasized, "I'm serious. I'm not lying lie to you."

Idiot!

Maryanne muttered to herself and replied, "Thank you, I think the same way too."

The corner of Milton's mouth twitched at her narcissism as soon as he heard her.

"By the way," Milton suddenly recalled. "I don't have much insight in violins. Why don't we go to a music store after work tomorrow? You can pick one for yourself."

"Hmm, okay," Maryanne replied absent-mindedly.

Milton was puzzled. "Didn't I already praise her? Why is she still unhappy? Could it be..." pondered Milton.

"Maryanne, are you unhappy because I refused your offer to sleep with me?" This was the only reason he could think of.

Maryanne burst into laughter, and it grew louder and louder.

Seeing her cackling so hard, Milton's handsome face turned blue. After a moment, he gritted his teeth and asked, "Isn't that the reason?"

"Oh my god! Dear, why didn't I know that you can be narcissistic as well?" Maryanne wiped away the tears from her eyes and looked at the man in front of her with intrigue.

Milton's expression stiffened but almost went mad. He should not have cared about her!

Maryanne grinned despite Milton's long face.

Her expression was extremely detestable in Milton's eyes. He was so irritated that he added, "Didn't you say you want to repay me? How am I being narcissistic?"

Maryanne smiled and admitted in a magnanimous manner as she heard his words, "You weren't. I do want that."

Milton felt a little better. "Then, why are you laughing so hard?"

"Because..." Maryanne said while beaming, "Do you know how you sounded just now? It was as if you were trying to seduce me."

Milton gawked at her with shock. "Se... seduce you?!" She was clearly distorting his words!

Maryanne nodded and continued, "You asked me if I was unhappy because you rejected my offer. Have you ever thought about how you're going to comfort me if I had agreed that that was the reason? Are you going to comfort me with your body?"

"I... I..." Milton had the urge to slap himself. Why did he say that? He had opened a can for worms!

Maryanne then went on as if she was oblivious to his sulky expression, "Don't pretend to be so decent all the time. Think about it, it'll be strange if you haven't gotten any 'idea' when you stay in the same house with a woman as beautiful as me every day. Back then, I thought you couldn't erect, but it turns out that you're just like any other men."

Sh*t! What did she mean by 'pretending' to be decent? He was decent!

The furious man suddenly glared at Maryanne. As a result, he found that she was looking back at him cunningly like a sly fox.

Milton was getting worn out by her theatrics. "Then what do you want me to do?"

Maryanne pointed at the prawns in front of her and raised her chin to give him orders. "Peel the prawns for me. I only want the large ones."

Such a simple request did not stump Milton. "Okay, I'll peel them for you."

Maryanne continued, "Remember to clean out the veins. I don't want to put those in my mouth."

"Okay." After Milton peeled the shells off the prawn, he found a toothpick and inserted it into the inner part of the prawn's back. Cutting it open, he picked out the vein.

Maryanne was shocked by his fluid movement. She thought picking out prawn veins was complicated, tedious and did not expect him to finish preparing a plate of deshelled and deveined prawns for her so quickly.

After a while, he pushed the plate to her and said while looking at her, "Stop being angry with me after you finish this, okay?"

Maryanne looked down at the prawns on the plate. Each one of them was peeled clean, which showed his attentiveness.

Seeing that Maryanne only looked at the place without moving her chopsticks, Milton thought she was still acting up and could not help but say impatiently, "Maryanne, I shouldn't have called you mannerless. I'm sorry."

Maryanne looked up from the prawns and began to reflect on her mistakes as soon as she heard him. "I shouldn’t have said your food tastes like sh*ttoo. They're all delicious..."

"Then it's settled. Are you going to eat now?" Milton asked in a helpless tone, amused.

"Yeah." Maryanne picked up a delicious prawn with her chopsticks, dipped it in some seasoning, then popped it into her mouth. Then, she began to chew like it was a rare delicacy.
