Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1577

Audrey's heart raced when she heard this.

She subconsciously took a look at her arm that was still grabbed by Kaiden, and asked shyly, "Why do you suddenly care for me?"

Kaiden answered frankly, "She asked me to take care of you more."

She?

It turned out that he was entrusted by someone. She knew that he would not be so gentle to her.

Audrey struggled to free her arm being grabbed by him, looking a little awkward.

So Kaiden immediately let go of her. "Sorry, I was too eager just now, so I held you."

"I know." After a reply, Audrey narrowed her eyes and said, "I still think that I shouldn't go."

"Why?" Kaiden looked at her strangely. He could tell from her face that she longed for freedom.

"No reason." She had perhaps been tempted at the moment. But when she heard that he was entrusted by Director Ramsay, her heart turned cold. It turned out that she was just a task arranged for him by Director Ramsay.

Since Audrey turned back to work, Kaiden could not help but ask, "Are you a masochist? They've bulled you so badly. Why don't you resist?"

Audrey's hand picking up the pen was slightly stiff, and she asked with some grievances, "I am just an ordinary staff, how can I resist?"

Kaiden said straightforwardly, "It's always said that members would look up to their leader. Why don't you have the guts like hers?"

"I!" Audrey's anger soared a little. But knowing that he had good intentions, she held it back. "I can't be willful given my family background. If there is nothing else, please leave."

Yet Kaiden took a step forward, bent down and picked up the stack of documents on her table. He then turned and left.

Being stunned for a few seconds, Audrey stood up and shouted, "Hey! Where are you up to while carrying them?!"

Kaiden kept walking and said, "I'll help you return them to their owners."

Audrey was shocked. She hurriedly followed up and said, "I haven't sorted them yet. Why are you sending it now? Besides, do you know where to send them?"

Kaiden said without stopping his movements, "I'll send them to Kaleb's office. This can't be wrong, right?"

Audrey was stunned and she finally realized that he meant it when he had said that he would stand up for her.

For a moment, her heart was full of all kinds of emotions. She tightened and loosened her grip continuously, not knowing whether she should snatch the folder from his hands.

While she hesitated, Kaiden had already rushed into the elevator, and she quickly followed in.

Kaiden could not help but laugh when he saw this. "That's more like it."

"What do you mean?" Audrey glared at him in frustration.

"Didn't you come with me to find trouble with Kaleb?"

Looking for trouble with Kaleb?

No way... She had never thought so. She just wanted to get back her documents.

Well, she was there to ask for the files, but why did she not reach out her hand?

As she was thinking, the elevator door was opened from both sides with a 'ding'. And Kaiden strode towards Kaleb's office...

Since he was holding the folders with both hands, he simply kicked the office door open which startled Kaleb, who was loafing on the job inside.

"Who's that?!" Kaleb roared reflexively.

"It's me." Kaiden came to Kaleb's desk and spread his hands. Numerous folders fell in front of Kaleb with a huge noise, and one of them even almost scratched his nose.

Kaleb was quite confused at first, but when he saw Audrey following in, there was a sudden realization on his face.

"Mr. Wright, what do you mean?"

Kaiden put his hands on Kaleb's desk, leaned slightly forward and asked aggressively, "I should ask you what you mean instead. Why did you send all your tasks to Ms. Atkinson by force?"

Kaleb said with a smile, "We are all colleagues of the same company. So of course we should work as one. Mr. Wright's words sounded to be insulting the collective unity."

Kaiden nodded. "Since you suggested to work as one, I need you to share the burden for Ms. Atkinson. It shouldn't be too much, right?"

"I wish to help her, but..." Kaleb moved the folders aside and showed the form underneath. "See, I'm busy, too."

"Okay, you stick to your work. But you have to make your subordinates handle these folders I sent back to you. Stop dragging Ms. Atkinson down." Kaiden said.

Kaleb said calmly, "Mr. Wright, to tell you the truth, my subordinates did not send their tasks to Ms. Atkinson because they're lazy or to make things difficult for her. They were just too busy recently while following me around. But Ms. Atkinson seemed to have nothing to do, that's why I..."

Kaiden could not help comforting her when he saw this, "Don't worry. I promised her that I would take care of you. If you can't stand it here one day, then come and find me. I will write you a recommendation letter."

At noon, in Streams Villa.

The blazing sun in the sky had indirectly contributed to the feeling of depression. At the moment, Sissi was having a headache concerning Abner's education.

In fact, she had been troubled by the problem almost every day. But she felt annoyed more easily due to the addition of Ryan's matter recently.

Right at the moment...

"Abner!" Sissi forcefully grabbed Abner's small hand, which was holding the pen, to make him write on the exercise book, "How many times have I taught you about this math question? You should add this, then this, and finally this. Do you understand?!"

Abner stiffened because of her roar. His mind had also stopped functioning.

"Now, you should try it again yourself!"

Sissi shrugged off his hand. She tore off the paper with her explanation, crumbled it up and threw it away. Abner was asked to do the calculations on a new piece of paper.

Since Abner did not make a move, Sissi unconsciously frowned. "Abner, are you pissing mom on purpose?"

Abner was speechless.

Sissi could not help but turned his shoulder and asked disappointedly, "Aren't you very smart? Why can't you even solve such a simple question?"

After frowning, Abner suddenly pulled Sissi's hand away, stood up, and ran away.

"Abner!" Sissi immediately chased after him and managed to caught him quick.

She grabbed Abner's slender arm and pulled him back to the seat while saying, "If you can't solve the question by today, you're not allowed to leave your seat!"

Abner had been amendable to coaxing but not coercion. Previously, Sissi had been trying to get close with him in a soft voice. She had taken good care of him, so he reluctantly behaved to listen to her lecture. But Sissi's scream that day had undoubtedly ruined his remaining good impression of her. He could not help shouting, "Dad! Dad, save me-!"

Abner's shout had brought Sawyer there from upstairs.

When Sawyer saw that Sissi's nails on Abner's arm in order to grab him, he could not help but stare at her with fire in his eyes.

He rushed forward and said to Sissi, "Sissi, let go of him first."

As Abner was constantly struggling, Sissi's hair was in a mess. It made her look like a crazy old woman, but she had not realised as she said intimately to Sawyer, "Sawyer, Abner hasn't been behaving well. I'm teaching him his homework, but he's been making trouble."
