When Amelia went upstairs to change her clothes, Patrick immediately stared at Wayne and asked with a fierce expression, "Did you see it?"
Wayne quickly denied, "I didn't see anything!"
Patrick narrowed his eyes. "Then why are you sweating?"
"Am I? It should be the weather being too hot. Ha, ha, ha..." Wayne giggled while fanning himself with his collar.
Patrick said seriously, "Be careful not to let me catch your offending eyes!"
Wayne was speechless. Why did he even care about the eyes of others. Was he not going too far?
Wayne dared not express his anger. He picked up the cup of cold tea and drank it all.
At the moment, Patrick's voice came again, "You have to taste the tea sip by sip. You're insulting tea prepared by Amy if you drink it that way!"
Fine, fine, he would drink no more, alright?
Feeling wronged, Wayne put down the teacup and stared forwards blankly. He looked like a fool.
Patrick asked seemingly inadvertently as he saw this, "When are you going back?" "Ah?" Wayne came to his senses and looked upstairs. "I shall at least wait until Amelia comes down to greet her before I leave."
Patrick shook his legs in a bad mood. He thought that the brat had got used to being served by Amelia!
Wayne could only try to change the topic as he saw that his boss was not happy. He could talk about any other topics with Patrick, and it was best not to mention about Amelia. Otherwise, he would be asking for trouble himself.
Upstairs, Amelia finished changing her clothes in the bathroom. When she came out, she heard Sierra's babbling voice.
She walked over to the baby's bed and held Sierra, who had just woken up, into her arms. After rubbing her nose against the baby's neck, she smiled and said, "Your mommy is back."
"Mama!" Sierra quickly captured the key word and called out.
"It's mom." Amelia corrected her pronunciation and continued, "I'll take you to see her now. But your mommy is not feeling well, so don't make too much noise."
Then, Amelia carried Sierra out of the bedroom and entered the guestroom.
Jessica was still asleep, so she was not aware that her daughter and her friend whom she had always kept in mind were quietly standing at the edge of the bed, looking at her.
"Jessica, get well soon." whispered Amelia, holding the hand of Jessica outside the quilt.
"Mama-" Sierra also caressed Jessica's face with her tiny hand. But she felt it so hot that she retracted her hand immediately. She looked at Jessica in confusion.
"It's fine, Sierra. Let your mommy have a good rest." After whispering that, Amelia left the guest room with Sierra in her arms and went downstairs.
When he saw Amelia holding a baby girl, Wayne subconsciously rubbed his eyes. After making sure that he had not mistaken, he asked, "Amelia, whose child is this?"
"It's Jessica's."
Wayne looked surprised. "Eh? Is Ms. Albert married?"
"Not yet. She adopted the child." Amelia explained.
"Oh." Wayne could not help but praise Jessica for being kind-hearted. He then reached out his finger to tease Sierra. "Cute little girl. Call me Uncle Wayne."
Wayne's flirtatious tone might have aroused Sierra's displeasure. She opened her small mouth and bit his finger, immediately making him shout in pain.
Amelia scolded, "Ya! Sierra, let go, you can't bite!"
"Right, the uncle is poisonous." Patrick gloated from the side.
After Sierra finally finished grinding her teeth, Wayne's finger was set free. He actually felt like crying when he saw the teeth marks and saliva on it.
"Hmm, it's actually the first time for the little fellow to bite someone! It seems that you're a special one to only receive her 'love', Wayne." Patrick deliberately mocked him again.
That was too much, Boss! Wayne was speechless.
"Wayne, is there any injury on your finger?" Amelia looked at Wayne while wiping the saliva off Sierra's mouth.
"No..."
"Don't worry, Amy. This guy has a thick skin. He will be fine unless Sierra has the teeth of a crocodile's." Patrick said coldly.
"Hmm!" Wayne keenly knew that it was time for him to leave. "Patrick, Amelia, I have something to do. So I have to go now."
Amelia subconsciously lifted the teapot on the table and found that it was very heavy. It could be seen that when she was upstairs, Patrick had not served Wayne well at all.
It made her feel very sorry. She could not help but ask him to stay. "It's so hot outside. You may have a few more cups of tea before you leave."
Wayne reflexively looked back at Patrick as he heard this and asked for instructions, "Patrick?"
Patrick was afraid of being exposed and said, "Since you're asked to drink, then drink it. Why are you looking at me?"
Wayne was then well aware of the saying 'one conquering another'.
Under the cover of Amelia, Wayne satisfyingly drank all he could before leaving Land of Fragrance with a full tummy.
As soon as the guest left, Patrick could not bear the loneliness that he pushed his way to Amelia's side and asked with a gloomy face, "Amy, can you be any more biased?"
"I guess so."
"Do you think it's Patrick?"
Ryan pondered for a moment and said, "I can't be sure about that. They have been enemies in their early years. If they want to take revenge on each other, would they have to wait until now? But other than Patrick, I truly can't think of anyone who has the guts to rashly attack Sawyer in public."
"Why don't you call and ask Miss Amelia Ramsay?"
"Alright." Ryan nodded and called Amelia.
On the Land of Fragrance.
"That's enough, Mr. Hopper! My phone is ringing!" Amelia, who was pressed against Patrick on the sofa, managed to get away from his lips and said.
Patrick pressed her struggling hand back and said rudely, "Who cares, wait until I got enough of kissing."
Amelia turned her head to avoid his kiss and said with her cheeks blushing, "It may be something important. Let me answer the phone first!"
"And then?" Patrick asked smartly as he turned her chin back.
"And then..." Looking at his wolf-like eyes, Amelia could only say as he wished, "You can do whatever you want..."
"Okay!" Patrick immediately took the phone out of her pocket and put it into her hand. "Answer it!"
After giving him an angry stare, Amelia looked down at the number and said, "Oh, it's Uncle Quartley! Could he be aware of Wayne bombing the hospital?"
Patrick pinched her little face and said, "You don't need to feel guilty. It has nothing to do with you. If Ryan asks about it later, feel free to put the blame on your husband, understand?"
"But..." Amelia suddenly lost words.
Patrick continued to make light of the situation as he saw her hesitation. "It's alright. Your husband is strong and powerful. Even if Ryan comes after me with all his forces, I can still take it."
"But..."
"Stop saying 'but'. Forget it, Let me answer it." Patrick directly took the phone from her hand. Ignoring her obstruction, he decisively tapped the answer button, "Hello, it's me, Patrick." "... Where's Amelia?"
"Oh, she is having a rest. If you have anything to say, you can tell me."
"Then... There's nothing."
As if he did not hear the awkwardness in Ryan's words, Patrick asked leisurely, "Okay, shall we hang up?"
After the call, Patrick put Amelia's phone directly into his trouser pocket, which made her very puzzled. He explained, "Ryan will know about it sooner or later. I'll have your mobile phone with me in advance so that I can deal with him as soon as possible."
