Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1715

After the knock on the door, Patrick said to Alice, who was on the other side of Amelia, "I'll go and check it out."

After Patrick opened the door, he said to Milton outside the door, "She's asleep, lower your voice."

At the sound of this, Milton nodded and gestured towards Patrick to step aside.

Patrick gave a way and let Milton in.

After Milton greeted Alice with a look, Milton looked at Amelia and stopped in his tracks.

At the sight of this, Patrick frowned and patted Milton on the shoulder to indicate for him to restrain himself. After all, Amelia was his wife.

Milton cast an impatient glance at his shoulder, where Patrick patted on, and continued staring at Amelia.

After a while.

Milton withdrew his gaze and turned to look at Patrick. He mouthed, "We'll talk outside."

Outside the ward.

Milton got straight to the point, "Other than fever, is there anything else wrong with Amelia?"

Patrick replied, "I'm going to have Amy do a medical checkup after the fever rides down. Then well know if there's any problem."

"Yes. I hope Amelia and the baby are doing fine. She has suffered too much."

In this regard, Patrick remained silent because all answers were useless in the face of the hardships Amelia went through.

Milton was finally able to ease up after confirming that Amelia was fine. But Milton did not show any sympathy towards the crease between Patrick's eyebrows that formed out of exhaustion. Instead, Milton began to tease, "By the way, I heard from Amelia on the phone that she was able to escape because of Sissi? That's to say, you didn't play a role in this?"

Of course, Amelia would not say that to Milton on the phone. However, Patrick had made fools out of Maryanne and him. So, it was fair for Milton to jeer him back a little.

Patrick then replied without a change in his expression, "Whatever she said was right. Why do you have to ask me again?"

Milton was speechless and did not know what to say. After all, he was the one asking for a conflict.

Fortunately, Patrick was conscientious, who asked lightly, "How's your relationship with Maryanne recently?"

Milton responded angrily, "Thanks to you, she still refuses to see me."

Patrick asked in a warning tone, "Are you really going to get back with her? Aren't you afraid of being pushed down the stairs when she's in a fit of anger?"

"Patrick Hopper!" Milton was enraged. "Maryanne isn't that kind of person!"

But in return, Milton got a sneer from Patrick. "If she isn't such a person, then who pushed Amy down the stairs?"

Milton realized that he had made an indiscreet remark and corrected his words, "Fine! I mean to say that even though she used to be that kind of person, she's changed now. I believe that she won't do such a thing again. So I'm warning you, don't slander her anymore. I don't like it!"

Patrick raised his eyebrows. "It seems like she's more important to you than Amy now."

Milton gnashed his teeth and replied, "They both mean something different to me. None of them is replacable!"

Patrick shrugged. "You don't have to tell me. I don't care."

From a selfish point of view, Patrick wished that Milton loved Maryanne more. It was so that Milton would not have the time to bother Amy in the future.

"Then don't ask!"

If it were not for the fact that Patrick had rescued Amelia, Milton would have punched Patrick in the face.

"Uh... You're in a hospital. Can you two keep your voice down?"

A nurse that was passing by plucked up the courage to say to the two after she heard Milton's shout.

At the sound of the reminder, the two remembered Amelia, who was sleeping soundly. Milton felt ashamed and said to the nurse, "Got it. Well watch our volume."

In fact, when Milton and Patrick left the ward for a chat, Alice had gently shaken Amelia awake.

Alice remembered that Amelia had asked to wake her up if she was sleeping when Milton arrived.

As for why Amelia did not ask Milton to see her immediately when she woke up was because she went to the bathroom.

Unexpectedly, in the short span of those two minutes, Milton and Patrick had begun to quarrel.

When Amelia came out of the bathroom, she happened to see Milton talking to a nurse through the window. Without thinking much, Amelia pushed the door open and called out, "Milton, Mr. Hopper."

The two men turned around quickly, and Milton reacted faster. After he bumped into Patrick on purpose, he strode towards Amelia.

Milton's furious expression changed dramatically and softened, "Amelia, you're awake."

Because Amelia had just washed her face in the bathroom, she looked much more energetic. "Well, I know you came to see me. So I have to wake up."

Milton held Amelia's hand and brought her to sit on the couch before he asked, "Were you well in the past three months? Did Sawyer bully you?"

Amelia glanced at her hand, which Milton was holding, then looked at Patrick out of the corner of her eyes.

Patrick stared at Milton's hand as if he was staring at a groper, but he did not lose his temper.

A moment after, Patrick came back and started rubbing Amelia's hand with his fingers.

Amelia was stunned for a moment before she suddenly understood why he did so.

Patrick's jealousy was so concealed that it made Amelia feel slightly guilty.

"Mr. Hopper..."

"I'm not jealous," Patrick denied insincerely. He then said with a serious face, "I'm afraid that Milton has germs on his hands. You're weak now, so I'd better help you disinfect."

Je sounded reasonable, but who would disinfect with their hand? At least, he should have cleaned her with a towel.

Never mind. It was all fine as long as he was happy.

"Besides Milton and Jessica, who else did you have an appointment with today?"

"No one. I don't remember anyone elses' contact numbers. By the way, Mr. Hopper, can you help me contact some people?"

"Yes, but we have to wait until tomorrow," Patrick said firmly.

"All right."

"Okay, take some rest first. Wayne and the rest will probably arrive very late."

Amelia shook her head and said, "I don't want to sleep. Me. Hopper, Aunt Alice, tell me about Apex Construction Corporation."

Alice began to talk about the company right away.

When Amelia heard the current dilemma of Apex Construction Corporation, she could not help but sigh softly.

Unexpectedly, Patrick suddenly interjected, "Amy, I was going to discuss with you the plan to acquire Apex Construction Corporation."

Amelia and Alice both looked at him simultaneously as they heard this.

"Mr. Hopper, are you serious?"

"Of course."

Amelia hurriedly followed up, "But isn't that frightfully expensive for you?"

Patrick insisted determinedly, "No. I believe that the future of Apex Construction Corporation is worth my investment."
