Tyler’s words made Sawyer say, “My brother–in–law is the district mayor here! He’s the husband of my blood sister! I’m warning you, you’d better stop now while you can! Quit acting like you’re all that!”

Sawyer looked smug and arrogant as he spoke, the annoying look on his face giving Anne the urge to smack him hard.

Rachel was much calmer in comparison. “Have you heard that the heavens will punish the proud?”

“I’ve never heard of that and don’t wish to, either. I’m proud, so what? Lady, just think about it. What’s so bad about being with me? My brother–in–law is the district mayor, while my sister is a bank chief. Just look at how impressive my family background is. Any woman would want to be with me, yet here you are, being choosy. I can forget it if you really don’t want to be with me, but why are you picking on me?”

The things Sawyer said and did were truly disgusting.

However, Rachel seemed to take on a different perspective this time and felt pity for him instead.

Tyler rubbed his nose bridge. He said with a smirk, “You should start mourning for your sister and brother–in- law, then. Very soon, they’ll be out of jobs and under investigation.”

Sawyer’s eyes widened as he snarled, his voice a pitch higher, “Do you think I’m boasting? I can call my brother- in–law right now! But you’d better think this through. Give me these two women, and I can spare you. We’ll return them once we have our fun. Don’t blame me if you want to have this the hard way!”

Tyler clenched his fists, his knuckles cracking as he did so.

“Quit talking nonsense. Call that all–powerful brother–in–law of yours here, or I might not be able to stop myself from beating you up again soon.”

Sawyer didn’t expect this man to continue acting so arrogantly even after mentioning who his sister and brother -in–law were.

Full of himself, he pointed at Tyler and said, “Very well! I’ll see for myself how capable you really are. Just you wait!”

“Jeremy, someone just bullied me! He sent two women under his wing to seduce me, and he’s flat out denying it right now. He even beat me up at the police station just now!”

“What did you say? Who is it? I’d like to see who’s bold enough to beat you up! Wait for me, I’ll be there right away!” Jeremy roared.
