Her agreement satisfied Xander.
"Good girl," he said, playfully pinching her nose.
But Yvonne was still fuming and turned her head away, refusing to play along.
Seeing her pout, Xander chuckled softly. "After you see the doctor, I'll take you out for a great meal."
Yvonne said nothing. A great meal? Did this man have any idea they were in Litamark, the heart of Black Gate's territory? The entire organization was in chaos. If any of their agents saw her and Xander casually strolling around, they'd probably try to kill them on sight.
...
The therapist Shawn had found was now in a room alone with Yvonne. Xander sat on the sofa outside, a lit cigar between his fingers. Shawn sighed beside him.
"I just don't see it. Someone with Yvonne's personality... how could she have a mental breakdown?"
Even after finding the doctor, Shawn couldn't believe it. In his mind, Yvonne was the type to give other people mental breakdowns, not have one herself. Who on earth could possibly break her? It was unbelievable, completely unbelievable!
Xander ignored him, taking a drag from his cigar.
"One little problem with Hull, and she starts throwing up?" Shawn mused.
'One little problem?' Hearing that, Xander shot Shawn a cool glance. He let out a soft, humorless laugh. "You think it's just 'one little problem with Hull'?"
"Huh?"
"Have you forgotten what Hull means to Ronald?"
Shawn fell silent. Right. He knew. Hull was incredibly important to Ronald.
"But it shouldn't be enough to give Princess Yvonne a complex, right? If Hull and Ronald really had a falling out, would Ronald just abandon his own sister?"
As Shawn saw it, Yvonne had the entire Quinn family behind her. There was no reason for her to be so stressed that it was making her physically ill.
