294 What a Coincidence

He added, “You’re getting too much attention right now. Just come with me first–I’ll explain later.”

Vincent tried to take Amelia away, but she dodged his hand without even thinking.

The last thing she needed was to be seen with that fool and make her reputation even worse.

Right then, someone suddenly grabbed her from behind and pulled her into his arms.

It happened so fast that she didn’t even have time to react.

She almost pushed him away. But then, she caught that cool, familiar scent. Her body froze, no longer fighting back.

“Who are you to her? If Amelia’s leaving, she’s leaving with me.”

The voice came from Jeremy.

He’d just arrived, and what a scene to walk into–pretty boys everywhere, her ex–fiancé, and her rival.

That was going to be fun.

“Mr. Curran, what a coincidence seeing you here.”

Gianna had been embarrassed and upset, but her mood lifted the second Jeremy showed up.

She even changed her tone, forcing her voice to sound all soft and sweet.

That fake sweetness was enough to make anyone cringe.

“Amelia has been mixed up with some gigolos. Please don’t tell anyone. My family will handle it.”

She made it seem like she really cared about Amelia, as if they were super close. Anyone who didn’t know the truth might have believed her.

But she clearly forgot who was standing there.

Patience almost rolled her eyes, and Vincent was finally starting to see how fake Gianna really was.

No wonder her acting career never took off, no matter how much her brothers tried to help.

She was just hopeless.

Vincent honestly felt like he and Marcelo could bond over being unlucky.

Was he blind or brainless back then to think Gianna was some innocent girl?

“Go look in the mirror and get out of my sight. You’re pathetic,” Jeremy said coldly.

He stared at Gianna like she was a hypocrite. He was pretty sure she was the one who’d sent those

anonymous messages.

Her face went red instantly.

She’d already been smacked around by Amelia, and now Jeremy was humiliating her as well.

Getting burned by a handsome guy like that was too much for her to handle. She completely lost it.

She couldn’t stand being in the room any longer.

Covering her face, she acted all pitiful and rushed out of the private room.

No one tried to stop her.

Back then, people might’ve gone after her, but not anymore.

Even Vincent, her fiancé, didn’t move a muscle. Why would anyone else bother?

Not even a dog would’ve cared.

“Let’s go,” Jeremy said, not giving Gianna another glance. He didn’t care about that phony or her future

husband.

When he passed Patience and Josie, his tone softened.

“I’m taking Amelia home. My assistant will come by to take care of the rest. If you need anything, just tell him.”

Jeremy’s attitude toward Amelia’s friends was completely different from how he’d treated the others.

“Sure thing. Go ahead. We’ve got this.”

“Yeah, don’t worry about us.”

Patience and Josie were both impressed by how polite he was. Their opinion of Jeremy shot up fast.

He was already good–looking and successful, but he was also respectful toward Amelia’s friends.

That definitely scored points.

“Wow, Jeremy is the real deal. He’s perfect for Amelia.”

“Totally. They’re made for each other–smart, good–looking, and in sync. You can’t beat that.”
