Crowned by the Man They Feared (Amelia and Jeremy) novel Chapter 338

Broken by Destiny by George Orwell 338 Summary

The unresolved issue of the marriage alliance continues to weigh heavily on the characters, with the main male figure deciding to wait until everything is settled before approaching Sabrina, fearing ridicule from her friends. At the Jordan Estate, the atmosphere is both lively and tense as Brielle expresses her sympathy for Sabrina, who appeared vulnerable and isolated during a recent show. Brielle is particularly frustrated with Jeremy, who ignored Sabrina in favor of Amelia, whom Brielle suspects of deliberately undermining Sabrina.

Brielle shares her concerns with their grandmother, Cora Jordan, who is skeptical of Brielle’s harsh judgment of Amelia. Having watched the show herself, Cora sees Amelia as a composed, polite, and capable young woman, especially in her field of pharmaceutical research. Cora advises Brielle not to jump to conclusions based on appearances and suggests that Jeremy may be the one overly attached to Amelia. Despite Brielle’s insistence that Amelia is hiding her true nature behind a mask, Cora remains firm that it is best not to interfere in others’ affairs.

Sabrina supports Cora’s viewpoint, urging Brielle to trust their grandmother’s experience and to remain calm. Sabrina’s mature and composed demeanor impresses Cora, who values strength and emotional control from her military background. Sabrina advises Brielle to avoid losing her temper and to be more strategic in their approach. After Cora leaves, Sabrina quietly warns Brielle to be smarter about how they handle the situation, emphasizing patience and caution to avoid pushing Jeremy further away.

Although Sabrina maintains a calm and gentle exterior, her growing resentment toward Amelia is clear. She plans to stay composed while secretly seeking dirt on Amelia, believing that someone who can put on such a show must have secrets. Brielle eagerly offers to help investigate but is cautioned by Sabrina to proceed carefully, acknowledging that Amelia is not an easy opponent. The chapter ends with both cousins preparing to navigate the delicate situation with a mix of patience, strategy, and underlying tension.

Chapter 338: Calm on the Outside

The issue of the marriage alliance was still far from being resolved.

He decided it was best to wait until everything was fully settled before going to see her. Otherwise, he was certain her friends would mercilessly tease him without pause.

At the Jordan Estate, the atmosphere was lively yet tense.

“Grandma, did you watch the show? Sabrina looked so vulnerable out there. She had no one willing to team up with her. It honestly broke my heart to see her like that,” Brielle said, her voice filled with sympathy.

“And that Jeremy—he’s absolutely useless! He didn’t even try to partner with Sabrina. He just stuck by Amelia the whole time.”

Brielle’s frustration boiled over, “Maybe that woman whispered something to him on purpose, just to make sure Jeremy ignored Sabrina!”

Right after the show ended, Sabrina had just walked through the door when Brielle immediately ran to their grandmother, eager to spill everything she had seen.

Brielle had watched every second of Sabrina’s screen time, memorizing every detail. It only deepened her dislike for Amelia.

Naturally, she hurried to Cora Jordan, their wise grandmother, to share her grievances.

“I’ve heard bits and pieces about it. Is that Nygard girl really as bad as you say?” Cora asked, raising a skeptical brow.

She found it hard to believe that such a pretty young woman could be truly malicious.

In her spare moments, Cora had actually watched the show herself on her phone and observed Amelia closely.

Amelia Nygard seemed not only beautiful but also composed and polite.

Especially in the field of pharmaceutical research, Amelia appeared knowledgeable and confident, often sharing her own insights.

She seemed like a genuinely kind and capable young woman.

Surely, someone like that couldn’t be as terrible as Brielle claimed?

Maybe, Cora wondered, it was Jeremy who was overly attached to Amelia, not the other way around.

“Grandma, you can’t always tell by someone’s face. The worst people hide their true selves behind a mask,” Brielle insisted, clearly frustrated that her grandmother wasn’t immediately convinced.

She felt hurt that Cora seemed to doubt her judgment.

“Anyway, it’s really none of our business. We shouldn’t interfere,” Cora said firmly.

Despite her age, Cora was strong-willed and had her own well-formed opinions. She wasn’t one to be easily swayed.

Sabrina, standing nearby, nodded in agreement. “Brielle, Grandma has lived a lot longer than you. You should trust her perspective.”

Brielle pouted but didn’t argue further.

“I’m trying to defend you here! Why won’t you back me up? Boo-hoo…” she whimpered, her voice tinged with hurt.
