Crowned by the Man They Feared (Amelia and Jeremy) novel Chapter 386

**TITLE: Broken by Destiny by George Orwell 386**
**Chapter 386: Forgotten Son**

“Sabrina is still his fiancée. How could Jeremy possibly bully her?” Brielle thought, her mind racing as she tried to make sense of the situation. It was a bold move to confront him, especially with Jeremy’s mother, Whitney, a woman of formidable presence, standing right beside them. Surely, Jeremy wouldn’t dare to unleash his wrath with his mother so close.

But Brielle’s assumption was tragically flawed.

“I’ve already severed ties with Sarina. That engagement was dissolved ages ago. It sounds to me like you’re just trying to make things difficult for your family,” Jeremy retorted, his voice dripping with disdain.

His piercing gaze swept over Brielle like a blade, and she felt her heart plummet into her stomach. She had never anticipated such hostility, especially not in the presence of Whitney, who had seemed so warm and welcoming just moments before.

Jeremy had no semblance of fear or hesitation. The sudden tension in the air made Brielle’s palms sweat. After all, her family could never hope to stand on equal footing with the Currans.

“Oh, so you’re here too, son?” Whitney remarked, her tone laced with mild surprise.

It seemed she had only just registered Jeremy’s presence beside her, a fact that struck Brielle as both amusing and tragic.

Amelia, standing nearby, was rendered speechless.

She cast a glance at Jeremy, a wave of sympathy washing over her. How could he be so overlooked, so invisible, even when he was one of the tallest figures in the room, with striking features that should have commanded attention?

“Yeah. I’ve been here for quite a while now,” Jeremy replied, his voice calm and collected, as if the tension didn’t affect him at all.

Whitney chuckled awkwardly, a nervous laugh that seemed to echo in the charged atmosphere. “Oh goodness, I didn’t even notice! There are just so many lovely girls around. I got a bit distracted.”

The implication hung in the air, heavy and unspoken. Even in a crowd, the young women somehow managed to eclipse her son’s presence.

But just as quickly as her laughter had come, Whitney’s smile faded, replaced by a stern expression that could silence a room. “Jeremy, that’s absolutely unacceptable. How could you treat Brielle and Sabrina like that? And you called Sabrina by the wrong name again! I’ve reminded you a thousand times, and you still can’t remember?”

Brielle felt a pang of hurt for Sabrina as Whitney’s words struck like a whip. The embarrassment of being called by the wrong name had already stung, and hearing Whitney’s frustration only deepened the wound.

“Whitney, you have no idea,” Brielle interjected, seizing the moment with fervor. “He’s always defending Amelia. Their relationship is way too close for comfort. You have to stand up for us!”

Her voice grew louder, more assertive. “She’s insufferable! She bullies her adopted sister, snaps at her brother, and now she’s targeting Sabrina too!”
