Chapter 410: The Tower: Vision of the Sleepless

"All failures," ARIA whispered through his earbuds. "Every option too small to even be enlarged master. Too shallow. Too stained. There is no building in this city fit to hold you, Master."

He exhaled sharp through his nose, jaw grinding. "So, what then? Crawl into OnlyCeleb like a dog? Or buy scraps that won’t even bend the way I want?"

For once, ARIA didn’t answer. Her silence was heavy. Calculating. Even she knew she had nothing better to offer.

The room felt colder for it.

Then Taboo laughed. Not loud. Not bright. Low and curling like smoke, slipping through the cracks of his skull.

[You’re circling the wrong question, Master.]

His fingers twitched against the sheets. Sarah shifted slightly, her breathing still deep and even. "Am I," he breathed.

[You’re asking what cage to rent. What scraps to steal. Wrong question. Wrong frame.]

Peter’s eyes narrowed at the holographic display. "Then what’s the right one?"

The voice purred, wicked and slow. [Why beg for space in their dens... when you could build your own kingdom?]

Silence hit harder than sound.

Peter’s breath stilled.

A kingdom?

"Explain... Taboo."

[Not just a club. Not just four walls and a velvet rope. A skyscraper. A vertical sin-den. Sixty floors stacked with indulgence, each one dripping with what humans crave most. Pleasure. Secrecy. Power. You don’t join them, Master. They join you.]

The words struck like lightning across his sleepless mind.

He saw it then—not clear, not complete, but a shadow of it. A tower tearing through LA’s skyline, black glass and steel veined in light, sixty floors humming with life. A place where the locals crawled for thrill, and the one-percent crawled for privacy.

His chest rose sharp, like air was suddenly too thin.

Emma murmured something in her sleep, nuzzling closer. He forced himself to stay still, but his pulse hammered.

ARIA was silent for long seconds, processors humming. Then, softly: ...It’s possible. Difficult. Ambitious. But possible. If we design it ourselves...

Peter’s lips curled slow in the darkness. "Not membership. Not scraps. A kingdom."

Taboo chuckled, dark and satisfied. [Now you’re asking the right question.]

The words lingered in the air like smoke.

A skyscraper. A kingdom of sin stacked to the sky.

Peter’s pulse wouldn’t let him stay still any longer. Moving with practiced care, he slipped free from Sarah and Emma’s warmth, easing out from between them like a ghost. Sarah’s hand slid from his chest to the sheets. Emma’s leg curled back against a pillow. Neither woke.

He stood, feet sinking into the black carpet, and moved to the center of the room. The floor-to-ceiling windows reflected him faintly—a dark figure wrapped in restless energy, the city lights of LA glittering behind him like fallen stars.

He raised his wrist, the Quantum watch gleaming and he started moving his fingers on the hologram, system knowledge flowed as he started the design. He was like a technology and architecture god at once.

An hour later...

"Show me," he ordered, voice low but firm when he finished.

"Yes, Master."

The holographic display exploded to life—not confined above the bed anymore, but filling the entire room. Neon-blue wireframes burst into existence from the watch’s projection, spinning, expanding, filling the darkness with steel, glass, and light. The hologram stretched to 100 inches, then beyond, wrapping around him like he stood inside the blueprint itself.

Taboo’s laugh coiled through the room, invisible, curling behind his ear. [There it is. Not a cage, not a lounge, but a skyline throne. A vertical labyrinth of sins.]

[Yes!] Taboo purred. [A kingdom where money isn’t enough. Desire is the only currency that matters.]
