Chapter 518
Nancy felt a slight sense of relief when she saw the password.
She knew Jayson was probably at the marital home, and she wanted to wait for him there.
Approaching the door, she carefully keyed in the numbers, but the loor didn’t open. The digital lock indicated that the password
was incorrect.
Frowning, Nancy checked the password Renee sent again and re–entered it, but still no luck. Typing quickly, she messaged, ” Renee, did you send me the wrong password?”
Renee replied, “Impossible. That’s the password I use whenever I o to his house. Maybe Jayson changed it? Didn’t he tell you? Have you never been there before?”
Renee was feeling a bit annoyed too. Jayson hadn’t even bothered to tell her that he had changed the password.
The last two sentences made Nancy’s expression turn grim. Jayson had never shared these details with her as they rarely
discussed such mundane matters.
Since Renee had asked, Nancy politely replied, “I forgot about it. You should continue with what you were doing.”
Nancy glanced around the quiet yard. She couldn’t see anyone in the vicinity; it seemed Jayson hadn’t even hired any maids to help with the house chores.
Just then, her phone rang. It was Jayson.
Her heart skipped a beat. She answered, hearing his familiar, husky voice. “I’ll be busy the next few days. I heard you were trying to reach me?”
Her anxiety eased. “It’s nothing urgent. I was just wondering what you’ve been up to. I happen to be free…”
Jayson explained, “I had to take a last–minute business trip to meet a few people.”
Nancy was reminded of what Matt said. Jayson was busy arranging everything for her competition. It made sense that he would
be meeting certain people.
With a soft sigh, she said, “Yeah, I heard that you weren’t around. ll reach out again once you’re back?”
“Sure. You should focus on preparing for the competition.” Jayson’s steady tone gave Nancy a strong sense of security. His composure, as if he wouldn’t falter even during an apocalypse, made Nancy feel less nervous.
“Alright, I will. By the way, I’m planning to visit Mr. Warbrooke more often. Can you come with me if you have time?”
It would be great if she could get some advice and guidance from dric. Besides, she didn’t have to be formally accepted as his student to seek his guidance.
People like Cedric usually did their best to nurture talented, promising students and were open to sharing advice to help them gain more knowledge.
“Sure,” Jayson said, not rejecting her request and answering fairly quickly.
Nancy smiled.
After a pause, she chuckled softly, “Jayson, are you staying at the arital home? It’s inconvenient not knowing where to find you when I want to talk to you. Can you send me the address when you’re staying and the password?”
She didn’t mention that she was already outside the marital home or that the password Rence gave her didn’t work. Jayson didn’t even ask where she was.
“I’m often at Larkin Manor,” he said slowly. “If it’s urgent, you can go to Jardine Manor. People there can help you reach me.”
Nancy was familiar with Jardine Manor, one of Jayson’s properties and the closest to Blum Corp Tower. He probably stayed
