Chapter 588
In the past, Ariel often liaised with the team managing Bluum Corp’s official social media account.
Because of that, she knew its protocols better than anyone.
Any post made on the company’s official account had to go through several rounds of review to ensure there were no errors or issues. Yet, the post she was now looking at read-
“Hello, everyone. I’m Ariel Walker’s husband, Jayson Larkin. In our marriage, I was the one who fell for her first and longed for her to be my partner. I hope everyone will stop spreading false rumors that damage my wife’s reputation. Please allow us to live peacefully and stand by each other’s side.
“Both my wife and I hold firm on certain principles. I was never forced into this marriage. I trust those who know better won’t be swayed by baseless gossip. If it isn’t too much to ask, we’d be grateful for your blessings and well wishes. Wishing everyone a wonderful day.”
The message was simple yet meaningful–concise, polite, and sincere without being overly formal.
The post was quickly racking up likes and shares.
Ariel stared at it for a long moment before putting her phone away, her expression unreadable.
Once, she might have felt elated. But things had changed. Her feelings toward Jayson had shifted ever
since their relationship did. She knew he was only doing this to maintain appearances.
Noticing her brief distraction, Jayson turned to her. “Grandma saw the article online. She’s worried. After this event, will you come with me to see her? It would ease her mind.”
Ariel couldn’t possibly say no to that.
Tonight, Jayson had spent a staggering amount of money to quell speculation and malicious rumors
about her. He had even made a public declaration of love on Bluum Corp’s official account to silence
gossip.
No matter how she looked at it, she owed him a great deal. Ariel knew it was only fair to return the favor.
“Sure,” she replied.
Nearby, Cecilia swirled the wine in her glass as she watched the pair whispering to each other. Her face remained expressionless until she finally smiled and approached Ariel.
Resting an arm lightly on Ariel’s shoulders, Cecilia said, “You should be mindful of those watching. We need to sign the donation certificate soon. Shall we go together?”
Ariel glanced at her but didn’t refuse.
From behind, Jayson’s gaze lingered on the two women, his expression unreadable.

The evening had reached its peak the moment Jayson arrived. It was speculated that this year’s charity fundraising total had already surpassed previous years.
Guests from various sectors approached Ariel to greet her, showing admiration and respect for her accomplishments while tactfully avoiding any mention of Jayson.
Thanks to her years of experience in public relations, Ariel mingled effortlessly.
By the time the event ended, it was just past 8:00 pm.
Before leaving, Cecilia leaned close to Ariel and murmured, “What a pity. Samson’s feelings for you were genuine. I hope you won’t be too cold to him the next time you meet. After all, this is his first time experiencing unrequited love.”
Ariel knew she’d be seeing Samson often after joining the research team–it was inevitable.
