Dead at Heart (Ariel and Jayson) novel Chapter 627

Chapter 627

Stanley responded in agreement. Yet, he furrowed his brows for a brief moment.

He and Kristen had been divorced for many years. Coupled with his busy work schedule, Stanley had seldom met or spoken to Cecilia and Samson. Still, he wouldn’t want to see either of them get into any

trouble.

Also, he couldn’t possibly allow the plan to partner with Bluum Corp to fall through.

After getting Gary to sign and stamp his name on the relevant documents, Ariel went and tested an aircraft of the latest model that had just been brought here recently.

She spent about an hour testing the aircraft.

By the time she came out of the building, Ariel spotted Jayson, who was leaning against his car.

Jayson looked in Ariel’s direction when he picked up on the sound of footsteps. He adjusted his stance and straightened his back.

Ariel could roughly tell why he was still here. She ignored Jayson and was about to walk away.

Ariel, do you want to leave together?

Samson had just caught up with Ariel from behind. He beamed when he noticed Jayson. Mr. Larkin, you’re here as well.

Jayson cast him a sidelong glance. I was waiting for my wife to be done with work.

Ever since she learned that they were still legally married to each other, Ariel had a completely different feeling upon hearing Jayson address her as his wife.

Hearing him say that made her feel extremely awkward.

Anyhow, it was very obvious what Jayson was implying with his words.

The smile on Samson’s face grew wider. He looked at Ariel. Ariel, we’re heading the same way if you’re planning to head back to the military base. There’s a report that I may need you to go through back at the base.

A report?Ariel echoed inwardly.

Since it was something related to work, Ariel couldn’t possibly neglect her duties and responsibilities.

She can always check the report at times that are much more convenient to her. Mr. Pryce, perhaps you should learn to be a bit more confident and handle things on your own. That way, you won’t have to rely on my wife so much to complete the task.

Jayson’s eyes were devoid of emotion. An enigmatic smile hung on his lips.

Have you decided to start following Ariel around since you have more free time after losing your lover, Mr. Larkin?Samson appeared as though he had just realized why Jayson was doing this now.

Jayson gave him a sideways glance. If you’re feeling envious, perhaps you should consider registering an account on the dating app that Matt’s currently working on developing.1

Ariel kept silent. Her ears were buzzing as she listened to the men’s exchange. She didn’t want this situation to go on any further. To the public, she and Jayson were husband and wife. She couldn’t just drop the act entirely.

Mr. Pryce, Jayson and I have other prior arrangements. Thank you for your kind offer, though.Ariel politely rejected Samson’s offer to give her a lift.

Samson wasn’t exactly surprised to get that response from her. He smiled brightly. It’s alright. I’ll meet you back at the base, then. You should keep the umbrella.

He directed his gaze to Jayson next. Safe travels, Mr. Larkin.

After Samson left, Ariel was left with no other options since she wouldn’t be able to get a cab there. She had no choice but to leave with Jayson.

Jayson opened the car door for her. “Should I carry the umbrella for you?1

Ariel simply ignored him as she entered the car and put on her seat belt.

Jayson drove here today. He turned the car around and drove off.

None of them spoke in the car.

Ariel turned on her phone and saw someone had posted on Instagram that the Sanderson family had just

secured a massive deal with an overseas company. A lot of people were envious of them.

Ariel fell into deep thought, wondering when Morgan had secured an opportunity like that. Just a few

days ago, he had threatened Ariel to make her convince Jayson to help with the Sanderson family’s

business.

However, Ariel had simply brushed him off.

She lowered her head and looked at the tender response Chad had sent her.
