Someone had come out to welcome Jayson.
Stanley had just returned from overseas. Lately, he had been swamped with work and barely spent time in Croinia.
He had already heard about the news involving Cecilia. He had only just landed when he learned that she had been taken into custody.
And now, Jayson showed up out of the blue.
As Jayson stepped in through the foyer, Stanley sized him up carefully. He couldn't deny that Jayson had a commanding presence and flawless looks.
He knew that Cecilia had a thing for Jayson, but unfortunately, she wasn't remotely equipped to handle someone like him.
"Please, Mr. Larkin, have a seat." Stanley had someone make coffee.
Jayson nodded and sat down.
But no sooner had he settled than Samson arrived.
Samson's expression darkened when he saw Jayson already there. He couldn't believe that Jayson actually came straight to see Stanley.
That was… sneaky.
Yeager Group was taking a hit. Without Jayson's interference, it would never have faced such a public backlash.
"Why are you in such a hurry? Is there something urgent?" Stanley glanced at Samson, motioning for him to sit.
Samson tugged at his lip. "Not exactly, but I wonder if you have something important to discuss, Mr. Larkin."
Jayson lifted his cup and took a light sniff of the coffee. "I hope we can be upfront with each other. I'm actually here about Ms. Pryce."
At that, a flash of sharpness crossed Stanley's eyes. He could already sense that this wasn't going to be simple.
Stanley studied him. A smart man didn't need everything spelled out. Cecilia's scandal was already public, and now it threatened to drag him into the fallout. Yeager Group was at risk too. Had it not been for Jayson, Samson would have buried this quietly and handled it without leaving a trace.
Now, it wasn't just about Yeager Group or Cecilia. It was about him as well.
So Jayson was here to negotiate. He was here to make Stanley decide.
"What exactly is it you want, Mr. Larkin? Why don't you spell it out for me?" Stanley asked, his voice dropping.
Jayson's expression remained detached. His tone was calm, yet left no room for negotiation. "This could be buried quietly, of course. But Ms. Pryce's actions were unacceptable. Still, she is your daughter. To spoil a child is to harm them. I propose three years in a rehabilitation facility. After that, she leaves Croinia and never returns. What do you think?"
Samson's eyes flashed with cold fury. "Jayson, with her status, you want her three years in rehab?"
That was practically killing her!

The readers' comments on the novel: Dead at Heart (Ariel and Jayson)
Can you give me more chapters? I was hoping for a happy ending with Ariel and Jayson. Janice with Wade, and if not, put her with Chad, Matt, or even Liam....
Nice and amazing story with gripping turns, but can you give more chapters? And please we need more romance as readers, it has been dragging on a lot, maybe romance, happy ending and end it soon....
