Dead at Heart (Ariel and Jayson) novel Chapter 751

Ariel propped herself up in bed. "What happened?"

Arthur had a grim look on his face. "It's Bluum Corp's board of directors. Shane has called for a meeting today. He's probably trying to seize control of the company."

Ariel frowned. She had suspected something like this might happen, especially with Jayson in critical condition.

Some factions had been waiting and quietly preparing for this moment ever since Shane and his parents returned to Croinia.

"Our board is divided into several factions. Although Mr. Kyle and his family were sent abroad years ago, they never gave up on expanding their influence at headquarters.

"They've planted loyalists within the company—people who will side with Mr. Kyle when decisions need to be made. Shane is using the government-backed project as an excuse. With Mr. Jayson unconscious, he can't oversee or manage the project. Shane is exploiting that."

Arthur studied Ariel's expression. The situation was growing increasingly complex. If they mishandled this crisis, Kyle's family could regain a foothold in Bluum Corp. It was clear they were vying for control.

Despite being weak, feverish, and injured, Ariel composed herself and spoke calmly. "Tell me everything about the current situation. Then send me all the project documents. I'll review them first."

Arthur, who always carried his laptop, handed it to her. "This project spans at least five years and is expected to transform the tech sector. The board considers it a top priority.

"From what I've gathered, someone on the government's side hasn't approved the project yet. It's likely because they haven't reached an agreement with Mr. Jayson.

"With him in a coma, Shane is blaming him for the delay. And Mr. Jayson can't defend himself now."

That gave Shane's faction the opportunity to manipulate the situation.

If the project were postponed or failed due to a lack of government approval, Bluum Corp would suffer massive losses.

The board was determined to prevent that outcome.

Despite looking pale and exhausted, Ariel scanned the documents on the laptop.

Several government officials were involved in the project, and for some reason, they had clashed with Jayson. It all seemed too convenient to be a coincidence. If this was part of Shane's plan, who had helped him orchestrate it so precisely?

"They're trying to undermine Jayson's authority," Ariel murmured, identifying the officials leading the project.

Still hooked to her IV, Ariel met Cassidy shortly afterward, and together they headed to Bluum Corp's headquarters.

Most of Bluum Corp's board members had gathered in the largest conference room on the top floor of Bluum Tower. Many had traveled overnight from various regions to Eldoria.

Kyle's eyes crinkled with satisfaction as he glanced at Shane beside him. Jayson's hospitalization during such a critical time had given their family the perfect opportunity to rise.

Shane sat calmly, watching the directors whisper and chat among themselves. The meeting hadn't started yet, but Shane was confident they would win today.

Jayson couldn't be present. Without him, the issue couldn't be resolved. Even if many directors supported Jayson, loyalty often faltered when personal interests were at stake. In large corporations like Bluum Corp, betrayal and shifting allegiances were common.

Outside the conference room, Jayda waited eagerly. Today could mark a turning point for their family. She wouldn't miss the chance to witness it.

Just then, she spotted Evelyn hurrying toward the room. Jayda smirked. "Evelyn, what brings you here today? I heard there are serious issues. Seems like Jayson hasn't done anything about them. That's pretty irresponsible of him, don't you think?"
