Samson didn't seem interested in explaining anything just yet. He simply raised an eyebrow at Ariel and said, "I'm guessing you've had quite a scare. This place isn't as peaceful as Croinia. When things go south here, it's beyond what you can imagine."

"Why are you here?" Ariel asked directly. Her eyes stayed calm, though deep down, she was guarded.

Samson pretended not to notice and spoke as casually as if they were old friends. "For business. There's a mining deal here I need to handle, so I'm staying for a while."

Ariel didn't beat around the bush. "Then why did you take my phone?"

Samson sat down, taking a sip of water as he looked at her. "My business requires discretion. It's the rule around here. If it bothers you, you'll get it back later."
