Dear Ex Wife Please take me back (Athena and Alex) novel Chapter 200

ALEX

I've never wanted an event to end as bad as I want this reception to end. But it seems I'm suffering alone because my wife is having the time of her life dancing and hugging everyone.

Including men I don't approve of.

Who invited these guys anyway?

But I let her.

Have the time of her life, I mean. Not the hugging part, I'll break the next male hand I see trying to touch her bare back.

She’s changed into this body-hugging dress that’s doing things to my sanity. It clings to her curves like a second skin, low in the back, high on danger. And every time she turns, her bare shoulders and that damn smile are on display for the whole world to see.

And I hate it.

Not because she doesn’t look good.

Believe me, she looks exquisite. It's just the possessive part of me that wants to keep her to myself so no one else sees her like this.

Temptations….

“Are you okay, dear husband?” Her sweet voice reaches my ears, and when she places a hand on my back, I feel a jolt of electricity shoot to all parts of my body.

“Unless you want to end the celebration early, I suggest you refrain from touching me, baby.”

I murmur the warning, my jaw tight as her fingers continue to brush teasingly along my back. She only grins at that. Of course, she doesn’t stop touching me like she knows exactly what she’s doing to me.

“You started it,” she whispers, batting her lashes up at me, her lips curved in a way that makes it very hard to behave. Then she winks and walks away to greet someone else, swaying her hips in the process.

I groan under my breath.

I am not surviving this night.

“Congratulations, son.”

I turn to see my father extending his hand before pulling me into a solid hug.

“You did good. You finally won her heart back. She’s strong, smart, beautiful… and she clearly loves you enough to put up with your shit.”

“I'm pretty sure I don't like my father calling my wife beautiful.” I narrow my eyes, making him throw his head back in laughter.

“I said the same thing to my father!” He laughs, shaking his head like he can't believe I just said that.

Before I can get any words out, my mother walks up to me, cupping my face with her soft hands, her eyes full of emotion.

“You made me proud, Alex,” she says, hugging me “Oh my precious boy!”

“See how much I taught this little shit?” Dad says, making mum glare at him.

“Don't call our son names, Eli! Especially on his wedding day.”

“Second wedding. With the same woman.” Noah joins us, making us all turn to face him.

“Noah. I didn't think you'd make it.” Mum, being the heartwarming mother she is, pulls him into a hug as well.

“I'm pretty sure I didn't invite him. Dad, were you playing nice?” I hold back a laugh but pause when I notice the look of respect in his eyes.

Directed at Noah.
