Calista waited patiently for a while. It wasn’t until half an hour later that she finally pressed the doorbell. 

Even though there were plenty of housekeepers walking around just beyond the do not a single one took the initiative to inform the 

family of her arrival. 

This accurately reflected her status in the family. Calista was nothing more than a laughingstock, a person to gossip about over tea. All in all, she simply didn’t belong. 

She repeatedly pressed the doorbell before a housekeeper finally came over, grumbling under her breath. 

“Ms. Marchand, we’re all very busy, you know,” she grumbled, shooting Calista a glare. 

Calista couldn’t be bothered to listen to her complaints. “Open the door. Mrs. Marchand was the one who told me to come back.” 

The housekeeper raised her brow slightly, a mocking glint in her eyes. “Really? I didn’t receive notice from Mrs. Marchand. Are you sure you’re not just here to cause trouble, Ms. Marchand?” 

To outsiders, Calista was already a walking joke of a person. And the title of “Mrs. Fenwick” only made her even more laughable. 

Back when Calista found out about the relationship between Lucien and Ophelia, she had made a trip back home. 

She had thought that someone would stand up for her. But no one did. Instead, everyone took Ophelia’s side. They even blamed Calista for being petty and overly sensitive. Astrid had gone so far as to say that if she continued to make a fuss, the Marchand family would disown her. 

Back then, she had been absolutely terrified as she still loved Lucien deeply. She was worried that if she were no longer part of the Marchand family, she wouldn’t be worthy of him. 

Looking back at it now, that thought was just foolish. 

“Didn’t I tell you to return in an hour 

o you know how long it’s been? Where are you?” 

Astrid’s voice was sharp, causing Calista to instinctively hold the phone away from her ear. 

“I’m at the entrance,” Calista said calmly. 

“I asked you to return just now, but you refused. What are you doing at the entrance now? Are you trying to make an even bigger fool of yourself? Come to Riverview Medical Center immediately. It’s urgent.” 

“I just came from Riverview Medical Center.” 

Calista felt like Astrid was toying with her. If she wanted to meet her at Riverview Medical Center, why make her go through all this hassle?
