Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 125

“Beeep—!”

A piercing buzzer split the air the instant the host finished speaking.

Every head in the auditorium swiveled instinctively toward Morgan.

He stared in disbelief, mouth slightly agape, his hand hanging uselessly in midair—he hadn’t even touched the button yet…

A heartbeat later, the spotlight snapped onto the answer podium in front of Charlotte.

The room fell into a stunned silence, while the livestream chat exploded:

[Wait, she buzzed in first?]

[LMAO, what’s the point if she can’t answer it?]

The host cleared his throat. “Congratulations, Lottie—you’ve got the question. Please answer!”

Charlotte didn’t even bother to look up. “The ones digit appears 20 times, the tens digit 20 times, and the hundreds digit 100 times. Total is 140.”

All color drained from Morgan’s face.

He was still frantically doing the math in his head when her answer hit him like a slap.

The host looked equally dazed. “…That is correct!”

On the stream:

[How did she even get that? I haven’t finished reading the question!]

[Blind luck, that’s all. No way she gets the next one!]

In the audience, Darren’s tightly drawn face finally cracked—She… she’s clearly not here to apologize.

Xena’s jealousy burned even hotter in her eyes.

“Second question!”

The host’s voice rose a notch, “A six-digit number begins with 1. If you move the first digit to the end, the new number is exactly three times the original. What’s the number? Buzz in now!”

“Beeep—!”

That lightning-fast buzzer again.

All eyes shot to Charlotte’s podium—sure enough, her red light was on.

Morgan was still in a daze.

Charlotte replied, “142,857.”

As soon as the words left her mouth, the correct answer flashed on the backstage monitor: 142,857.

“Correct!”

Even the host’s voice quivered a little.

The chat scrolled wild:

Three days later, Charlotte’s name appeared on the list for the semifinals.

The moment the host announced the results, Darren stood abruptly. “Xena, I’m stepping out for a smoke.”

Xena managed a strained, “…Alright.”

Five minutes later, backstage.

Charlotte shut the changing room door behind her, ready to slip out of the formal dress she’d worn under the harsh stage lights.

Suddenly, the door swung open.

She didn’t even have time to react—a familiar, forceful presence pinned her against the wall.

“Charlotte.”

The man’s low voice was a hot whisper in her ear.

Long fingers gripped her chin, forcing her to look up.

In her gaze was reflected a sharply handsome face.

“Mr. Harrington,” Charlotte murmured, “shouldn’t you be out there with your new wife, enjoying the show? What are you doing here?”

A wry smile tugged at Darren’s lips. “What am I doing?”

His eyes burned with heat. “You really don’t know what I want, Charlotte?”
