Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 149

Charlotte frowned. Noah missed her?

A bitter, hollow laugh slipped from her lips. “He probably just wants me in hell as soon as possible.”

Darren heard the sarcasm in her voice, his knuckles cracking as he clenched his fists.

“Charlotte, Noah has lost his memory. This is your last chance to make things right. Miss it, and you’ll never hear him call you ‘Mom’ again—not for the rest of your life.”

That word—“Mom”—stabbed deep, sharp as a needle in Charlotte’s chest.

She’d ached for that call, dreamt of it night after night, only to see Noah turn to Xena during her kidnapping, only to be lured by Noah himself into a trap wired with explosives...

After all that, she’d long given up hoping for anything at all.

Darren’s expression was icy as he dialed the hospital’s video line. “Put my son on,” he ordered.

Then, striding over to Charlotte, he shoved the phone into her hand, voice hard as granite. “You have one chance. Either sign the papers with him, or come with me.”

Charlotte’s eyes flickered. She looked down at the screen.

Noah sat on the hospital bed, a bandage wrapped around his head, his small frame dwarfed by the white sheets. The moment he spotted her on the screen, his face lit up, pure joy shining in his eyes.

“Mama...”

“Mama, I missed you. I love when we go to the riverside to collect pebbles. Will you take me again, just like last time?”

That one word—“Mama”—echoed through the screen, making Charlotte’s rigid face tremble despite herself.

Collecting pebbles by the river?

The last time she’d done that, it was with Ryan, not Noah.

Suddenly, she realized it was true—Noah really had lost his memory. His mind must have twisted the past.

If not for that, the only words she’d hear from him now would be:

“Charlotte, I hate you.”

“Charlotte, get out!”

Darren was stunned. Not only had she thrown away this rare chance for reconciliation, she’d shattered it, leaving Noah in tears.

He was about to explode, but Charlotte hung up the call before he could speak, pushing the phone back into his hand.

Her tone was flat, emotionless. “I already have a son—his name is Ryan. As for your little prince, I won’t pretend to be his mother just because he’s lost his memory.”

“His mother is Xena. I, Charlotte, could never measure up.”

The cold phone pressed into his palm, and Darren felt a heaviness settle over him. His voice was sharp, impatient. “Charlotte, what on earth are you trying to do?”

What was she trying to do?

Charlotte’s voice was even colder. “Darren, you were the one who told me to cut all ties with Noah.”

“That was ages ago! Why are you still holding on to it? What’s the point?”

Charlotte almost laughed. Was she really the one clinging to the past? She was the one left with all the scars, and yet in his eyes, she was the problem.

So, to the one who caused all the hurt, not forgiving was the real crime.
