Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 155

The mocking sneer froze on Darren’s face.

This was the woman who had once humiliated herself just to win his favor, who would have groveled at his feet if he’d asked. And now she was practically begging him—to leave her alone?

He’d expected to explode in anger, but as he looked at the shimmer of tears she fought to hide, the fire inside him found no place to go.

Was she crying, or wasn’t she?

This Charlotte felt like a stranger—distant, weary, her pain somehow making him restless and, against his will, strangely protective.

Just then, his phone rang. The hospital’s number flashed on the screen.

Darren’s brow furrowed as he answered. “Hello?”

The attending physician’s respectful voice came through. “Mr. Harrington, Noah is stable now and ready to be discharged. Whenever it’s convenient, you can come pick him up.”

Noah.

Darren’s gaze flicked to Charlotte’s pale face. Into the phone, he said, “Understood.”

He hung up and looked back at her, his words carrying an unyielding weight. “Noah’s being released.”

Charlotte stayed silent, her eyes lowered, as if the news meant nothing.

Darren loosened his tie, frustration simmering. “Charlotte, I’m giving you a chance to start over.”

He leaned forward, folding his hands on the table, exuding all the arrogance of someone used to being in control. “Apologize to me now. And file for divorce from Bradley. For Noah’s sake, I’ll arrange for your bail.”

It was as generous an offer as he could muster.

But Charlotte’s eyes remained empty, her voice barely above a whisper. “That won’t be necessary.”

“Charlotte! Will you ever stop?”

Darren shot to his feet, palms flat on the table, looming over her with barely contained fury and a flicker of confusion he failed to recognize in himself.

“I’m warning you—if you’re convicted, you’ll be behind bars for at least three years!”

Darren snorted, as if he’d heard a joke. “She’s facing charges for illegal medical experiments. The evidence is ironclad—no one’s getting her out.”

Bradley replied, steady as ever, “I’ve spoken with our attorney. She never harmed anyone. The nature of the case isn’t as serious as you’re making it out to be.”

Darren’s expression remained ruthless. “Harmed or not, I don’t care. Lottie broke the law while working at the Harrington Foundation’s research facility. As the unwitting victim, our organization will pursue this to the fullest extent. If the law isn’t followed to the letter, our legal team will appeal every step of the way.”

He paused, voice loaded with challenge. “Of course, Mr. Fairchild, you’re welcome to see if the Fairchild family’s influence counts for anything in Heston.”

Bradley’s power was centered in Avalor, not here.

In the end, with Darren’s relentless interference, bail was denied.

Charlotte was remanded to jail.

The next day, a lawyer in a black suit came to see her.

“Mr. Harrington wants you to face reality. As long as he’s here, there’s nothing Bradley can do to save you, no matter how hard he tries. Be smart—swallow your pride and beg for forgiveness.”
