Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 206

The housekeeper’s voice trembled with anxiety.

But Xena, perfectly composed, reassured her, “Relax. Darren was drunk that night—he’s utterly convinced I’m pregnant.”

“As for the hospital, I’ve got a mysterious friend helping me. The paternity test results are ready whenever I need them. All I have to do is find the right time to have the baby, and after that, everything will fall into place.”

The housekeeper looked like she wanted to protest, but before she could say another word, the screech of brakes cut through the air outside the villa.

“Mr. Harrington is back!”

She fell silent instantly, grabbed the bowl of soup, and hurried out.

Darren had barely stepped out of his car when his phone rang. It was his executive assistant.

“Mr. Harrington, the news you asked us to release about your second child has only been out for thirty minutes, and already the top three media platforms have crashed. It’s unprecedented!”

“Word is, we’ve run into a world-class hacker! Every top engineer in the city is scrambling to fix it!”

Panic laced the assistant’s voice.

Darren frowned. “A world-class hacker?”

His thoughts flashed to the shadowy figure who’d helped Xena fabricate her records and cover her tracks. If someone could fool his own private investigators, maybe hacking was involved too.

“Keep a close eye on things. Update me the moment anything changes.”

His tone was low and commanding. Hanging up, he strode into the house, up the stairs, and straight to Xena’s room.

He pushed open the door to find Xena propped weakly against the headboard, looking pale and fragile.

“Darren…”

The moment she saw him, Xena’s face softened with a practiced vulnerability. She tried to sit up, but Darren crossed the room and gently pressed her back down.

“Lie back,” he said, voice gentle. “You need to rest. You’re not just looking after yourself anymore.”

“Huh?”

Xena’s smile froze awkwardly on her lips. Not just herself? Was he insulting her?

Half an hour later, wrapped in a bathrobe, Darren stepped out of the bathroom and picked up his phone.

He stared at a photo—ten interlaced fingers, a fleeting moment of intimacy—and whispered, “Would you believe it, Charlotte? I can’t stop thinking about you.”

The room was silent, cold as the look Charlotte had last given him.

He swallowed hard, suppressing the dryness in his throat, and called his assistant again. “What’s the situation now?”

“Mr. Harrington, the servers are still down! The tech team is at their wits’ end—some of them are practically in tears! We even checked the black market. No one’s paid for a job like this. Whoever did it isn’t a professional hacker for hire!”

Darren’s eyes narrowed.

If Xena had her way, she’d want her pregnancy news all over the city.

So this top-tier hacker wasn’t working for her.

As for whoever’s pulling strings behind the scenes for Xena…

His expression darkened. Into the phone, he said, “Run a background check for me. On someone.”
