Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 250

Even with the Harrington Group’s global reach, their business had never crossed paths with the Griffith family.

Charlotte’s instincts whispered that this might have something to do with her own mysterious background.

But whatever flicker of emotion crossed her face vanished in an instant; her eyes turned cold again as she said flatly, “I don’t know anyone from the Griffith family. Please, sir, you should go back.”

Cedric grew desperate, tears streaming down his wrinkled cheeks. “Miss, please reconsider! Even if you’d just come for a look—meet the family head, at least—”

“That won’t be necessary.”

Charlotte cut him off, her tone leaving no room for argument.

After several futile attempts, Cedric realized she wouldn’t budge. At last, he had no choice but to leave the small cabin.

Darren studied the calm, unreadable profile of her face. “Don’t you want to know who your biological parents are?”

A faint, almost wry smile tugged at Charlotte’s lips. “I don’t need strangers suddenly popping into my life as family. If they haven’t shown up for twenty-four years, there’s no reason for us to disturb each other’s lives now.”

Darren drew in a sharp breath.

She could turn her back on people who might be her own flesh and blood—what chance did he have?

And yet, even if he had no chance at all, he couldn’t help wanting to stay by her side.

Because deep down, he knew: if he gave up, how lonely would she be?

Suddenly, Charlotte’s phone rang.

Darren answered, then turned to her. “The helicopter’s here. I’ll carry you out.”

Before Charlotte could protest, he crouched down, offering his broad back to her.

Charlotte stared at the tense line of his shoulders for a moment, silent, then finally leaned forward and wrapped her arms gently around his neck.

Darren stood up easily, steadying her with his hands.

Together, they said goodbye to the kindly old woman and her grown son who’d taken them in. Though the woman was clearly disappointed she hadn’t earned that enormous reward, she still pressed a bag of dried jerky into Charlotte’s hands, urging her in the local language, “Take this for the road—stay safe!”

Charlotte didn’t understand, but accepted the gift with a grateful nod and a quiet, “Thank you.”

Of course, the woman didn’t understand her words either. But somehow, the kindness passed between them, heart to heart.

One of the security men offered, “Mr. Harrington, I’ll go retrieve it for you.”

Darren shook his head. “That won’t be necessary.”

He knew the mother and son were good, honest people—armed men in tactical gear would only frighten them.

It hadn’t even occurred to Darren before, but somewhere along the way, he’d started paying attention to how others felt. Maybe it was because of Charlotte.

When you’ve lost something precious, you learn to cherish everything that remains.

He turned to her. “You stay here, Charlotte. I’ll get it myself.”

With that, Darren jumped out of the helicopter and strode back toward the cabin.

He knocked politely, but got no answer.

He pushed the door open a crack.

The hinges creaked—and a wave of metallic blood filled the air, sharp and choking…
