Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 279

The smile faded from Charlotte’s face, her voice dropping to a somber hush.

“After the artificial heart was implanted, his heartbeat came back, but it’s never been strong enough. For the past two years, he’s been little more than a living shell.”

She paused, then continued, “But as long as his vitals meet the criteria, there’s still a chance for another transplant. It’s not hopeless.”

Prince Simon watched his daughter, seeing in her eyes a quiet, stubborn resolve—a tenacity so much like Eunice’s. After a long moment, he nodded slowly, choosing not to press further.

After saying goodbye to Prince Simon, Charlotte went to dinner with Bradley and Ryan at a quiet, elegant restaurant in Avalor.

When they’d finished their meal, a server appeared, pushing a cart with a beautifully decorated cake.

“Mom, you have to try this! It’s delicious!” Ryan urged, eyes bright with excitement.

Smiling, Charlotte picked up a little spoon and scooped into the cake—only to hit something cold and hard. Startled, she gently parted the dessert, revealing a sparkling diamond ring nestled inside.

She looked up in surprise, meeting Ryan’s gaze—his eyes shimmering with unshed tears. “Mom! Dad and I have been waiting for you here in Avalor all these years. Mom, will you come back and stay with us? Please?”

Bradley picked up where Ryan left off, his voice low and sincere. “Lotty, I admit I had my own motives when I first approached you. But somewhere along the way, you truly got under my skin. If you’re willing… I’d like to ask for a second chance.”

He’d spent the past two years figuring out what he truly wanted, and what he could offer her. This was his leap of faith, planning this with their son.

Around them, a few diners paused to watch, some with curious glances, others smiling in quiet encouragement.

Charlotte stared at the ring glinting in the soft light, her heart a tangle of emotions.

After a moment’s silence, she picked up the ring, wiped it clean with her napkin, and gently slid it back across the table to Bradley.

“Thank you. And thank you, Ryan. I truly appreciate how much you both care.”

She looked between the two of them, her voice gentle but firm. “It was never about a lack of love or sincerity between us—but I don’t want to be defined by any man’s wife. I’m happy with the way things are.”

She didn’t look back, striding into the terminal with steady resolve.

Bradley had left his mark on her journey, but he was, in the end, just a passerby in her life. She wouldn’t hold him back, nor would she make promises she didn’t mean. She only wanted to live true to her heart.

. . .

The plane touched down smoothly at HestonAstra Airport.

Charlotte emerged at the cabin door, composed and ready.

A team of assistants, already waiting at the VIP entrance, moved forward to greet her.

The lead assistant bowed respectfully. “Welcome home, Ms. Lee. The Harrington Group’s third-quarter financial reports have been preliminarily audited. The board meeting is set for ten o’clock tomorrow morning. The agenda will include…”
