After Chasel finished speaking, he made a silent vow to buy a gift for his sister later, hoping to leave a good impression on her.
Romeo thought, ’Four days! So what is he going to do?’
At that point, Chasel’s gaze fell on Romeo, with a look of probing in his eyes.
"Rose, why don’t you chat with your classmates for a while? I need to talk to Romeo about something."
Rosemary, of course, knew what he meant, so she nodded and patted him, saying, "Have a good chat."
Rosemary’s words left Chasel slightly confused. Did his sister want him to be nicer and more polite to Romeo?
Was she trying to protect that guy? Was he overthinking things?
After Rosemary left, Romeo stepped forward, extended his hand to Chasel for a handshake, and began amicably, "Long time no see."
Who would have thought that their relationship would progress further upon their next meeting?
"Did Rose agree to your relationship, or did you force her through a marriage contract?" Chasel asked as soon as he started, from the position of an elder brother.
Romeo answered truthfully, "I fell in love at first sight."
He hadn’t forced her, nor had he formally pursued her.
Indeed, he owed Rose a serious courtship.
He briefly mentioned the incident of Rose saving Phillip McMillian.
Chasel had no idea that his sister’s medical skills were so superb. Not only did she cure Grandpa Phillip, but she could even cure Grandma Shirley, who had become a vegetable!
He only knew that his sister had been found, but he had no idea about her incredible skills.
It seemed that his sister must have gone through a lot of hardships to acquire such superb medical skills. His eyes grew darker instantly.
Chasel said, "Don’t be overly intimate with Rose in front of others since your marriage hasn’t been settled yet."
Romeo naturally understood Chasel’s meaning. If he couldn’t end up with Rose, his current intimacy could harm Rose’s reputation and life.
Romeo made a promise, "Don’t worry, in this lifetime, I will only marry Rose."
’The dude was that determined?’
Chasel looked at him. With his status and identity, he had so many choices. Could he really promise to marry only Rosemary in his lifetime?
It wasn’t that Chasel lacked confidence in his sister or thought she wasn’t good enough for Romeo. He was just worried about her investing too much in the relationship.
Romeo always had to consider Rosemary, not just get overly intimate because of his infatuation at that time.
"Rose can affect my emotions; she is very important to me. Sometimes I wish she could grow up sooner and graduate sooner, so I can give her a grand wedding, letting everyone know she’s my wife, Romeo’s wife. I want everyone to witness our happiness, and I want to keep her by my side through marriage. You may not believe how afraid I am of losing her."
That statement surprised Chasel. Romeo could be afraid too? What in this world could he be afraid of?
"There are many women in this world, many young and beautiful women, and there will be more in the future. But only she can make me go crazy and obsessed." Romeo’s words were heartfelt and sincere, "To me, she is really important."
On the side, Chasel’s groupies were crowding around Rosemary, chattering non-stop.
"You’re so well-behaved and cute!"
"Your genes are really something."
"Sis, you have no idea how much our boss wanted to fly back to see you. The mission was supposed to end at the end of the month, but he finished it early! You wouldn’t believe how."
They didn’t finish the sentence with "dangerous," but Rosemary guessed it and felt a bit anxious inside.
"The moment the mission ended, the boss flew straight back, without even taking a break! We were so exhausted last night that we could fall asleep standing up!"
"The boss is really jealous of your brothers, who got to see you first. You might not believe it, but he felt really bad about not being able to buy you a gift himself."
"I gotta say, the boss really values you. Whenever he gets a chance, he asks the other brothers about you. But they always brag about how close they are with you in front of him, making him both envious and helpless."
Hearing this, Rosemary looked towards the silhouette having a conversation with Romeo, feeling even warmer inside.
So, having a brother who cared and loved her this much was such a wonderful thing.
"By the way, the boss didn’t know you were his sister last night. If he knew, he definitely wouldn’t have invited you to join." The man didn’t finish his sentence, as if he remembered something, and quickly shut up.
Kelly, who was standing nearby, was a bit curious: "Join what?"
They couldn’t reveal the Ministry of State Security, but Kelly was still surprised. "You guys met last night? What Chasel invited you to join couldn’t be?"
