Chapter 890: Chapter 889

"If you ever feel uncomfortable about anything that he says or does, just let me know, and I’ll deal with him," Louisa said with a protective fierceness in her voice.

Rosemary, puzzled by her mother’s words, replied, "He hasn’t done anything to me. We haven’t even spoken. As a matter of fact, I haven’t met him yet."

Louisa looked perplexed. "The bodyguard at the door told me you two exchanged a few words and then you got upset and wouldn’t let him in. What’s that all about?"

"Wait, the guy at the door is my brother?" Rosemary’s eyes widened with surprise. The same Sean?

Could he really be her brother? Was this not some kind of trick?

"Yeah," Louisa said, still a bit dazed. How could Rose not know that the man was her own brother? 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

"And there was an assistant with him?"

"That’s right, his name is Steward. He’s been by Sean’s side for years now."

Upon hearing this, Rosemary immediately stood up and headed for the front door.

Outside, the two men had practically turned into snowmen. Steward was completely frozen stiff, staring longingly at the main house, never imagining that in the next moment, he’d actually see Ms. Rose opening the door and braving the heavy snow to walk toward them.

"Sean, I think I’m hallucinating from the cold." Steward said, his breath forming clouds in the air, looking like an awkward snowman, "It really looks like Ms. Rose. Ms. Rose is coming."

Sean noticed his sister approaching and his face lit up with excitement. It was really his sister!

She was coming to him!

"Ms. Rose is getting closer. It’s real." Steward’s gaze was filled with hope. "It’s really her, not a hallucination."

He wanted to jump up and shout for Ms. Rose, but his feet were numb from the cold and he couldn’t move.

His hands were too stiff to lift.

Even his voice, muffled by the cold air, was quieter than usual.

"Ms. Rose. please let us in." Steward pleaded, chattering teeth and all, mustering all his energy to shout, "Sean’s injured!"

Rosemary reached the gate, where the security guard quickly came out to salute. "Ms. Rose, I remembered your instructions and didn’t let them in."

"Open the gate."

The guard thought he had misheard, but seeing Ms. Rose’s resolute face, he immediately pressed the button to open the gate.

Finally, Sean could come in. It had been such a struggle.

The guard secretly rejoiced for him.

The gate slowly swung open on both sides.

The man who was once so cocky and proud now seemed to have deflated a bit in her presence, his expression even showing a hint of careful appeasement.

He tried to step forward, but his feet were frozen solid, too stiff to take a step.

Steward gave him a push, and Sean managed to move forward, asking with joy, "Rose, you’re not mad anymore?"

Rosemary scrutinized the man in front of her. "Are you really my brother?"

"The real deal," Sean assured her, patting his chest. The snowflakes from his clothes sprayed onto Rosemary’s hair, and he hurriedly reached out to brush them off. "Oops, I didn’t mean to get it on you."

"Ms. Rose, let me introduce myself. I’m Steward, Sean’s right-hand man. I swear on my life, he is your brother, no doubt about it!"

Rosemary looked at Steward, who seemed earnest, and then back at the bumbling, eager-to-please Sean in front of her, and asked with a hint of suspicion, "So, before..."

"Before, I didn’t realize you were my sister."

"Let’s talk inside."

In front of his sister, he was more polite than usual.

Bard, seeing his nephew arrive looking frozen, couldn’t help but chuckle, "You made it?"

Eunice smiled too, "It must be really cold outside."

Darren, eager to express his longing for his grandson whom he hadn’t seen in a while, would’ve normally greeted him warmly, but remembering the recent conversation between Louisa and Rosemary,

he put on a stern facade, "What in the world is going on? Did you two bully Rose outside?"

Belinda feigned reproach as well, "Look at the mess you’ve made."

"Let Sean change into some clean clothes first," Rosemary said, and immediately the others began to praise her.

"Look how sweet, kind, thoughtful, and caring your sister is for you, her brother."

"Hurry up and change."

"I want to hear what you’ve done to Rose later!"

Sean’s clothes were wet, and with a reluctant glance at his sister, he headed upstairs first.

The family gathered around Rosemary to get the full story.

Rosemary spoke earnestly, "Sean didn’t bully me. At the construction site, it was he who led the rescue."

She also shared the details of Sean being shot, acting as a human shield during the explosion, covering her ears, and injuring himself in the process.

Sean paused on the last step of the staircase, touched by his sister’s defense of him in front of the family.

She omitted all the misunderstandings and chose to share only the parts that were in his favor.
