Zachary held Gabrielle’s hand and, led by the waiter, came to the reserved best spot by the window.

Gabrielle’s heart sank.

Cristofer and the Herring Group got mixed up together, and that was definitely not good news.

Theresa just got screwed over by her and Zachary here today.

With her personality, she definitely couldn’t swallow this.

If Cristofer showed interest in her, she would probably tell Cristofer something just to get back at him.

For example, about Mrs. Monroe and the thing where “Irene” just showed up out of nowhere.

They might have even exaggerated things to make her look bad.

“He was coming for us,” Gabrielle said firmly.

Cristofer got close to Theresa, but it was never really to help the Herring Group.

Zachary already expected that Cristofer would take advantage of Theresa.

But he didn’t expect it to be this fast.

“Then what about us…” Gabrielle was a bit worried.

“I already had someone take care of it.”

“Even if Mrs. Herring wanted to say something, she had to think about the consequences.”

Zachary’s tone was calm, but it carried an undeniable confidence.

“Eat first.” Zachary picked up his knife and fork and motioned to Gabrielle.

“The sky fell down, I held it up.”

Gabrielle looked at his confident eyes, and her uneasiness slowly faded.
