Chapter 192
Anna’s POV:
The cold night wind made me shiver uncontrollably.
Before I could protest, Blake opened his coat and pulled me against his chest, wrapping the warm fabric around both of us.
His familiar scent enveloped me, but instead of comfort, I felt nothing but anxiety.
“Have you lost your mind?” I stared coldly at him, remembering how tenderly he’d held Scarlett just days ago.
Blake didn’t answer, his eyes gleaming with an intensity that unnerved me.
He seemed almost manic, energized by this twisted cat–and–mouse game we were playing.
When we reached Scarlett’s luxurious villa, I planned to stall until she opened the door, creating an awkward confrontation I could escape from.
But Blake simply punched in a code on the smart lock, and the door swung open.
“What the-
“It’s my investment property,” he said matter–of–factly. “I gave it to her as a gift.”
That explained how Blake could appear so casually in Scarlett’s social media livestreams.
“You don’t need to explain anything to me,” I replied stubbornly, pulling away from his grip as we entered.
Inside, the chill seemed even more intense.
I struggled to break free from his embrace, desperate not to be held any longer.
Hearing him say those things stirred up emotions I couldn’t quite control, even worse than when he’d kissed me without any regard.
When I got a bit too rowdy and annoyed him, he didn’t snap right away; he just looked at me with a mix of irritation and confusion.
“I’ll wait for you in bed,” Blake said, frustration evident in his voice. Are you done with this tantrum?”
A wave of helplessness washed over me. It was that familiar feeling I used to get when I was with him.
What kind of woman stays tangled up with a man for years, knowing full well it’s not going to lead to happiness?
In just a few minutes, I found myself thinking about so much.
I wondered if I should use the same tactics I’d employed with Maxwell.
The thought of searching for broken glass to cut my wrists and scare him flashed through my mind. My eyes burned with tears I refused to shed.
In Scarlett’s bedroom, Blake pushed me onto the bed, the sudden movement forcing my tears back.
He kicked the door shut behind him and stood with his arms crossed, his tall frame imposing and threatening.
“You definitely didn’t have that look when you had Seth staying at your hotel, His voice was dangerously low. “Did you really sleep with him?*
I laughed bitterly. “Why should I tell you? Weren’t you busy enjoying your time with Scarlett?”
“What can that useless bastard give you?” His voice was thick with menace,

Chapter 192
At least Seth actually cares about me, I shot back. “Unlike someone who mily pretends to love me when family e watching –
Really?” Blake’s tone was mocking.
I looked straight into his eyes. “Seth told me he’s always liked me, since we were kids.
Blake approached the bed, his voice ice–cold. Even if Seth knows you’re with me tonight, there’s nothing he can do about it. You’ll always be my wife.
“You’re vo crude, I spat. “Is that all you think about?”
He smirked. ‘Who knows you better than I do?‘
His words brought back memories of our intimate moments, making the contrast with our current situation feel like a knife to my heart.
Suddenly, the sharp click of heels echoed outside.
I jumped off the bed and quickly moved to the corner near the closet.
Blake frowned and strode toward the door, but before he reached it, Scarlett pushed it open.
Her startled expression quickly morphed into a seductive smile as she spotted Blake.
“Blake? Did you… come to see me?‘ Her voice dripped with suggestion. “You know I’m always ready for you.”
She leaned against the doorframe in a silk nightgown that left little to the imagination.
“Anna’s heart has gone wild,” she purred. “She’s fallen for another man. I know how to please you better than she ever could.”
Blake stood between us, his body rigid. “Get out,” he commanded, his voice frigid.
Undeterred, Scarlett continued, “She’s ungrateful. After everything you’ve done for her.” She giggled. “Remember how I made you laugh at the Crown Club yesterday? Anna never makes you laugh like that.”
“You have no right to talk about her,” Blake snarled, his blue eyes darkening with fury. “Get the fuck out!”
I’d never seen him direct such anger toward Scarlett before.
I thought he’d lost his mind. This was his fiancée we were talking about. And what did I even mean to him in comparison?
I stepped out from the corner. “I should be the one leaving,” I said, resignation in my voice.
Blake and Scarlett froze like someone had hit pause. Then Blake snapped back to reality and slammed the door in Scarlett’s face.
“Someone’s in there!” Scarlett’s shrill voice penetrated through the door. “There’s a woman in my bedroom! Anna?!”
