Jennie? Hearing the name of the big boss, the sales associate froze.
Could this girl actually know the owner? But she looked like a middle schooler. How could she possibly know a world-renowned designer like Jennie?
While the associate hesitated, a saccharine voice floated in from the entrance.
“Don’t bother. Even if you find it, she can’t afford it.”
If seven hundred scared her off, how could she possibly afford twenty-eight hundred? She was just a fraud.
“Ms. Sherwin, it’s been too long!”
The associate immediately pushed past Janet, her face beaming as she greeted Yolanda.
“We have many new arrivals that would look perfect on you. Shall I show you?”
“Of course,” Yolanda said, clutching her hundred-thousand-dollar handbag. She deliberately strutted over to Juniper and looked her up and down.
Dressed like a beggar. Her old man was clearly a cheapskate, not even willing to buy her a decent outfit.
“Oh, my dear sister, long time no see,” Yolanda purred, flicking her hair back to show off a dazzling diamond necklace.
“It has been a while,” Juniper replied, her hands in her pockets, her cold eyes sweeping over Yolanda. “I’m surprised you weren’t beaten to death at the dance studio last time.”
“You—”
The mention of the studio wiped the smile from Yolanda’s face. The humiliation and pain of that day were still fresh in her mind.
“Don’t think I don’t know you arranged all of that!” she hissed, glaring at Juniper with pure hatred.
“That’s right.” Juniper took a step closer and blinked innocently. “I did it on purpose. What about it?”
Yolanda flinched back, having learned from past encounters not to confront her directly.
Yolanda watched her calm demeanor, her disgust growing. “Keep pretending,” she thought. “Let’s see how long you can keep it up.”
“Bring me that haute couture trench coat, the one that costs over a million!” Yolanda announced, crossing her arms and flaunting her manicured nails. Over a million. Juniper must be dying of envy.
“Juniper…” Saskia fretted. There were dozens of outfits. If they damaged any of them, they could never afford to pay for them.
“Have a piece of candy,” Juniper said, handing one to Saskia before opening her backpack. She obediently took a sip of water, then pulled out her phone and found Jennie’s contact. She typed a quick message: [You wanted to see me? I’m free now.]
She then sent her location.
Jennie, seeing the notification from her mentor, shot up from her chair, her fingers trembling as she replied: [Yes! I’m on my way! Please wait for me.]
She was also in Eclara City. This was the perfect chance to show her mentor her latest designs. She was sure to be praised.
A giddy smile spread across her face.
