Chapter 265
“Ana, save me!”
When Aurora saw Ana, she practically lunged toward her like she was grabbing a lifeline.
Ana was startled–if she hadn’t recognized Aurora’s voice, she might have thought she’d encountered a zombie in broad daylight.
“Aurora, are you okay?” Ana asked with concern.
“I’m fine, just dead tired. Go to your department’s break room and make me a coffee, and everything will be right with the world again.”
Ana looked at Aurora skeptically. She just looked tired? That didn’t seem right.
Just then, Cassian’s assistant hurried over with a pill bottle in his hand.
“Miss Clark, Mr. Rhodes asked me to give you this. He said you probably didn’t sleep well and have a headache.”
Aurora’s head was pounding. “At least he has a conscience.”
“Ana, please go make me a coffee so I can take this medicine,” Aurora said.
Ana’s mouth twitched. Take medicine with coffee?
Suddenly, she caught a glimpse of someone darting past.
Ana paused, looking suspicious. Who was lurking in the corners? It didn’t look like Cassian’s silhouette.
Besides, if it were Cassian, he would have come out openly instead of hiding.
“Ana, please, please!” Aurora called again.
Ana quickly went inside and came back with a cup of water.
“Ugh, why is it water?” Aurora complained weakly.
“Taking medicine with coffee isn’t good for you. Drink some water with your pills first, and once you’re feeling better, I’ll make you that coffee.”
“Fine, I guess.”
Aurora took the pills with plain water and gradually started feeling human again.
“I had drinks last night during a business meeting. My head was killing me, but I finally feel better now.”
“Just ‘a little‘ drinking?” Ana asked skeptically.
Aurora’s smile faltered slightly. She laughed awkwardly. “Well… I didn’t want to, but you know how business deals work, right?”
“But you can’t treat your body like it doesn’t matter. Drink less next time, or bring Cassian along. With him there, I’d like to see who’d dare pressure you.”
Aurora laughed. “You’re quite the smooth talker. You don’t even want to rely on him yourself–why would I?”
Ana laughed sheepishly, surprised that Aurora had seen right through her.
“By the way, why did you come looking for me? Is there someone in Cassian’s office you don’t want to see?”
Aurora thought to herself that Ana was sharp–no wonder Cassian liked her.
“There’s a rabid dog in there that bites people,” Aurora said.

Chapter 265
Ana burst out laughing. Who could possibly be so annoying that Aurora would compare them to a rabid dog?
“Today I brought someone here to shoot jewelry ads. The spokesperson is Sonia Vinci–do you know her?” Aurora asked.
Ana nodded. Of course she knew.
Originally, this project wasn’t supposed to be her responsibility, but Vincent remembered that she and Sonia seemed to have some conflict, so he’d deliberately assigned Ana to handle it. He was probably hoping Sonia would continue making things difficult for her.
But this was all part of the job, and Ana naturally wouldn’t refuse.
Aurora and Ana went to the photo studio together.
However, Sonia still hadn’t shown up.
A crew member asked, “Where’s our leading lady? Why isn’t she here yet?”
Aurora’s expression changed slightly as something occurred to her.
She realized that when she’d left Cassian’s office earlier, she’d forgotten to tell Sonia to come out.
Could it be… that Sonia was still in Cassian’s office?
If it were anyone else, Aurora would have just called directly, but since Ana was right beside her, she thought it better to be discreet. After all, they hadn’t known each other that long, and she couldn’t be sure how Ana would react.
“I’ll call her manager,” she said.
“Okay.”
