Chapter 302
Elisabeth looked at Sonia with concern. “Miss Vinci, are you feeling alright? You look quite pale. Do you need to see a doctor —
To Sonia and Yuria, Elisabeth’s words sounded like pure provocation.
Yuria snorted coldly. “Sonia is sick alright–her beloved got stolen by some homewrecker. Of course she’s upset.”
Cassian’s expression darkened. “Yuria, stop talking nonsense!”
Sonia went even paler, grabbing Yuria’s sleeve. “Yuria, no, it’s not like that.”
The more Sonia backed down, the angrier Yuria got.
Why should Anastasia get to steal someone else’s man and act so righteous about it?
“I’m not talking nonsense. Whoever did it knows exactly what they did.”
Yuria stared directly at Anastasia.
But she was shocked to see Anastasia calmly sipping her coffee and eating pastries, even refilling Elisabeth’s cup when she noticed it was empty.
Elisabeth elegantly tapped the table twice with her knuckles to thank Anastasia.
Seeing their casual interaction made Yuria’s chest burn with frustration.
She turned to Anastasia. “Well, Anastasia? What do you have to say?”
Anastasia slowly looked up at Yuria. “You can’t just take one side of the story. You say someone stole her beloved. Did that man ever actually reciprocate her feelings? Or did he promise to be with her and then go off with someone else? If that’s the case, it’s the guy’s fault, not the woman’s.”
“But if a woman has no shame and tries to break up a loving couple with manipulative schemes, then it’s definitely her fault and she deserves everyone’s contempt.”
Anastasia finished, then looked directly at Sonia. “What do you think, Miss Vinci?”
Sonia knew Anastasia was calling her out, her face turning white as a sheet.
Feeling Sonia’s distress, Yuria angrily snapped at Anastasia, “What the hell are you babbling about?”
Anastasia looked at Yuria coolly. “Do you think what I said was wrong? Isn’t everything I just described exactly the kind of homewrecker behavior you despise? From what I know, the person Sonia likes has never liked her back. Instead, she’s been using underhanded tactics to try to destroy other people’s relationships.”
“You’re lying!” Yuria said through gritted teeth.
She turned to Sonia desperately. “Sonia, what she’s saying isn’t true, right?!”

Sonia’s lips trembled, “I… I didn’t.”
Of course Sonia wouldn’t admit it.
Yuria trusted Sonia completely, like she was under some kind of spell.
“That person is just a total bitch, always assuming the worst about people’s motives, using every trick in the book to sabotage relationships, and even got Sonia fired from her job.”
Anastasia looked at Yuria and laughed coldly. “Which do you think is more legitimate–a relationship protected by law, or one that’s just words?”
“Love doesn’t work on a first–come–first–served basis. You either love someone or you don’t. Get your facts straight before you start throwing accusations around.”

The moment Anastasia finished speaking, Sonia jumped up and practically fled.
Yuria looked after Sonia with heartbreak, about to chase after her.
“Wait,” Cassian said suddenly.
Yuria froze, turning stiffly toward Cassian. “C… Cassian…”
“According to Rhodes family rules, you need to face consequences for today’s behavior. Go to the estate and serve your punishment.”
Punishment?!

Yuria shuddered thinking about spending the night locked in the estate’s library as punishment–it was cold, isolated, and terrifying.
She started crying. “Cassian, I know I was wrong,
I-”
“Do you really know you were wrong? Or are you just saying that to avoid punishment? I’ll be calling Grandfather. If you don’t go, you’ll face the consequences.”
Yuria trembled all over, deflating like a punctured balloon.
She left dejectedly.
After that drama, Anastasia found her appetite had actually improved–after all, who wouldn’t feel better when annoying people left?
Suddenly, Anastasia felt Elisabeth watching her.
“Grandma?”
Elisabeth smiled at Anastasia. “Anastasia, you handled that beautifully. That’s exactly how you should deal with unpleasant people.”
Anastasia was surprised–she’d expected Elisabeth to lecture her about being more diplomatic.
Chapter 302
Cassian turned to Elisabeth apologetically, “I’m sorry about today, Grandma, I should have handled this better
“It’s not your fault,” Elisabeth said. “You’re a catch, so of course all the vultures circle around you. That’s normal
“But your cousin really needs to learn some manners and basic right from wrong. Thank goodness our Anastasia doesn’t have
to live with her, or that would be a disaster.”
Cassian understood exactly what Elisabeth was implying.
“Don’t worry, Grandma. I won’t let anyone bully Anastasia.”
Anastasia suddenly spoke up. “Grandma, I can hold my own in a fight. I can protect myself just fine.”
Elisabeth laughed. “Don’t be so stubborn. Cassian is your husband–if you’re in trouble, it’s normal for him to help.”
Cassian nodded like a parrot. “Exactly, perfectly normal.”
Anastasia smiled. “Alright, got it.”
After Philips came to drive Elisabeth home, Anastasia and Cassian headed to work.
On the way, Cassian’s phone wouldn’t stop ringing–it seemed to be his uncle Gilbert calling repeatedly.
But Cassian ignored every call.
“He’s called you like twenty times. Why don’t you just turn your phone off? Then you wouldn’t have to hear the constant buzzing,” Anastasia suggested.
“No need,” Cassian said. “If I turn it off, he’ll probably give up after a few tries. But if I leave it on and just don’t answer, he’ll keep calling, hoping I’ll eventually pick up. Right now, he’s the desperate one, not me.”
Anastasia thought to herself that Cassian really was next–level strategic.
When they got close to the office, Anastasia got out of the car.
Cassian’s car hadn’t gone far when a dark figure suddenly jumped out and blocked his path.
Anastasia’s heart skipped a beat seeing Cassian almost get into an accident. Worried, she stayed back to watch from a distance.
The person had come around to the back window, knocking and gesturing for Cassian to roll it down.
Cassian’s face was cold as he slowly lowered the window.
When Gilbert saw Cassian’s expression, his whole body tensed up.
Even though Cassian was younger than him, the intimidating aura he radiated was almost too much for Gilbert to handle.
Gilbert took a deep breath and looked at Cassian. “Cassian, what’s going on? Why are you punishing Yuria?”
Cassian gave Gilbert an icy look. “Don’t you know exactly why I’m punishing her, Uncle?”
