Chapter 305
“Mr. Rhodes, shall I drive you back to the estate?” Philips asked.
When Philips had come to the estate to find Cassian earlier, Cassian had mentioned that Anastasia was still sleeping there.
Cassian had originally wanted to bring Anastasia along, but seeing her sleeping so peacefully, he didn’t want to disturb her and had left alone.
“No, back to Summit Heights,” Cassian said.
“Understood.”
When Cassian got home and opened the door, he found the place empty.
“Anastasia? Grandma?”
No response.
Cassian paused, just pulling out his phone to call Anastasia when he heard laughter and conversation coming from the elevator area. Looking up, he saw Anastasia and Elisabeth walking out arm–in–arm.
Anastasia was carrying a shopping basket.
Seeing Cassian home, Anastasia waved cheerfully. “You’re back!”
Seeing them, Cassian finally relaxed.
He smiled at Anastasia. “You went grocery shopping?”
Anastasia nodded. “Yeah, Grandma said this place only has supermarkets, which aren’t convenient for fresh produce–not much selection and things aren’t as fresh. So I took her to the farmer’s market nearby. We bought lots of ingredients, and I’m
cooking today!”
Cassian thought to himself that in all their time together, this was the first time Anastasia had volunteered to cook. He was actually looking forward to it.
“Sounds great.”
“By the way, what client did you meet today? You left so early,” Anastasia asked.
“A businessman from London, surname Covey…” Cassian began.
Suddenly there was a loud “THUD” as something heavy hit the floor.
Cassian and Anastasia looked over to see Elisabeth had dropped something while unpacking.
“Grandma, are you okay?”
Elisabeth smiled. “I’m fine, just didn’t have a good grip on it.”

Chapter 305
Anastasia took the items from Elisabeth, “Grandma, go sit in the living room. I’m cooking today you just wall and eat.
Elisabeth looked at Anastasia with some concern. “Are you sure you want to cook?”
Anastasia winked at her. “Grandma, cooking is so simple. It’s a piece of cake!”
Elisabeth gave Anastasia a meaningful look and quietly walked away.
Seeing that Cassian hadn’t grasped the severity of the situation, Elisabeth pulled him aside and whispered, “I suggest you order takeout ahead of time.”
“Why? Anastasia seems like she knows how to cook,” Cassian said.
“Then you’re definitely being fooled by appearances. She may look like the perfect housewife, but her mother never taught her to cook when she was little, and when she lived with me, I spoiled her and didn’t make her learn. So her cooking skills are… questionable. If it comes out edible, that’s already a win.”
“That’s fine, as long as it’s cooked,” Cassian said.
Elisabeth shook her head. Cassian clearly had no idea what he was in for.
“Cassian, come here and teach me how to order delivery.”
Seeing Elisabeth putting on her reading glasses to order takeout, Cassian thought she was being a bit dramatic.
“AHHH!”
Suddenly, the sound of oil splattering was followed by Anastasia’s scream.
Elisabeth and Cassian both instinctively rushed toward the kitchen.
Elisabeth, being older and less agile than Cassian, arrived behind him. By the time she got there, Cassian had already reached Anastasia, covered the pan with a lid, and extinguished the flames that had shot up.
Anastasia looked at Cassian with lingering fear. “I… I don’t know what happened. The heat was so intense.”
Cassian patted Anastasia’s shoulder gently. “It’s okay, this stove probably runs hot. It has nothing to do with you.”
Cassian was good at comforting people–everything was wrong except Anastasia. How could she be at fault? It was all the equipment’s problem.
“I suddenly really feel like cooking. Why don’t you go sit outside and wait while I make something for you?” Cassi
gested.
“But… wouldn’t that be wrong? I said I was going to cook. How about I help you instead?” Anastasia offered.
Cassian thought to himself that Anastasia was determined to stay in the kitchen today, and if he didn’t agree, she wouldn’t give up.
For the rest of the time, Anastasia stayed busy in the kitchen, though it wasn’t clear what exactly she was accomplishing. Finally, the food was served, and all three of them breathed sighs of relief.
“Mmm, your cooking is so delicious!” Anastasia said.

Chapter 305
“That’s only because you helped me. I could never make such good food without you,” Cassian replied.
“Really?”
“Really.”
They looked at each other and smiled, their faces glowing with happiness.
In the hospital, Valeria lay in bed scrolling through her phone, bored out of her mind.
“Mom, when can I get out of here? This place is so boring,” Valeria complained.
Whitney looked at her daughter with sympathy. Her once active daughter who could walk and run was now confined to this tiny hospital room.
What was worse, Jasper and Megan hadn’t visited even once since that first day.
It was like Valeria was just a breeding machine for the Hale family.
Whitney was furious but couldn’t confront them about it.
“Hang in there, sweetheart. Once your body recovers a bit more, you’ll be able to get up and move around.”
Valeria was genuinely bored but had no choice.
Just then, Sharpson suddenly walked in.
Seeing Sharpson arrive during work hours, Whitney was surprised. “Honey, didn’t you have that company meeting today?”
Sharpson opened his mouth as if to say something, then seemed to hold back.
Whitney thought he was being considerate of Valeria and said, “Don’t worry, we’re all family here.”
After hesitating, Sharpson said, “Today, someone came asking about a woman named Elisabeth Paige.”
“Elisabeth Paige…” Whitney murmured. “That name sounds familiar…”
Suddenly, she remembered something and her expression changed dramatically. “I remember now! That’s Sheila’s
mother–that old hag is named Elisabeth Paige!”
Sharpson nodded. “The person said his boss is Elisabeth Paige’s son, and he desperately wants to reunite with his …ther.”
“I’m thinking, since Anastasia is that old woman’s granddaughter, maybe I could convince her to arrange a meeting. Then we’d have endless wealth and luxury.”
But as soon as Sharpson finished speaking, Whitney and Valeria burst out laughing.
“Dad, it’s daytime. Daydreaming during the day is called fantasy,” Valeria said.
Sharpson’s brow furrowed. “Then what do you think we should do?”
